Effective date: September 24, 2026
Yinian respects and protects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how the Yinian mobile app, including its iOS and Android versions, handles information generated when you use the app and how you can manage that information. The current core features do not require registration or login, and the main data is stored locally on your device.
- 1. Scope
This Policy applies to the Yinian mobile app and versions distributed through the Apple App Store, Google Play, or other official channels, including daily scripture, the scripture library, favorites, daily check-ins, breathing exercises, appearance settings, and ambient sounds. If future features change how information is handled, we will explain the change in an updated version of this Policy or in the relevant product screen.
- 2. Information We Handle
2.1 On-device records
To provide favorites, appearance settings, daily check-ins, and meditation-duration statistics, the app stores the following locally on your device: favorite records, light/dark/system appearance preference, check-in dates, streak count, accumulated meditation time, and local user-data files required for the app to operate.
These records are not automatically uploaded to our servers and are not used to build a cross-device user profile. Deleting the app will generally also delete the local data in its app sandbox.
2.2 Audio playback information
The app includes built-in ambient sounds such as rain, wind, night, campfire, forest, and ocean sounds. Audio files are included in the app package. Playback state and volume settings are used only to control playback on your device. The app does not collect recordings, microphone content, or listening preferences through the ambient-sound feature.
2.3 Information we do not actively collect
The current version does not require or actively collect your name, phone number, email address, precise location, contacts, photos, camera content, microphone content, health data, payment information, account password, or address-book information.
- 3. How We Use Information
We use local information only as necessary to provide app features, including displaying favorites, saving appearance preferences, calculating check-in status, recording meditation duration, restoring app settings, and controlling ambient sounds. We do not sell personal information or use local records for advertising or cross-app tracking.
- 4. Network Access, Third Parties, and Tracking
The core features of the current version do not depend on network requests. The app does not integrate advertising SDKs, third-party login, cross-app tracking SDKs, behavioral analytics SDKs, or cloud account synchronization. Audio resources are bundled local resources. If we add a third-party service in the future, we will explain its type, purpose, and data practices before updating this Policy.
- 5. Storage and Security
App data is stored in the local app storage on your device and protected by the permissions and app-isolation mechanisms of the applicable mobile operating system. We take reasonable measures to prevent unrelated features from accessing the data. However, no electronic storage method can be guaranteed to be completely secure. Please protect your device and system passcode.
- 6. Sharing and Disclosure
The current version does not share local favorites, check-ins, appearance preferences, or meditation-duration data with third parties. We will not voluntarily disclose personal information unless required by law or a lawful request from a judicial or administrative authority, or necessary to protect users, the public, or our legitimate rights and interests.
- 7. Your Choices and Rights
You can manage favorites, appearance settings, ambient sounds, and check-in records in the app. You can also manage permissions and local data through your device's system settings or by deleting the app. Because the current version has no account system or cloud synchronization, we do not provide account-based remote data export or remote deletion.
- 8. Children’s Privacy
Yinian is not designed to collect children’s personal information and does not require users to provide identity information. If a parent or guardian believes that a minor has provided personal information without consent, please contact us. After verification, we will take reasonable steps to address the matter.
- 9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Policy when app features, data practices, or applicable laws change. The updated Policy will be posted on this page or in an appropriate location in the app and will include a new effective date.

This Policy was prepared based on the current cross-platform project functionality and applies to versions distributed through the Apple App Store and Google Play. Before release, publish it at a publicly accessible HTTPS URL and complete App Store Connect's App Privacy questionnaire and Google Play's Data safety form against the final build. If accounts, cloud sync, push notifications, analytics, advertising, payments, or health-data features are added later, reassess and update this Policy before release.
