This Privacy Policy explains how Y2K Camera (“Y2K Camera” or the “App”) accesses, processes, stores, and protects information when you use the App.
SCOPE
This Privacy Policy applies to Y2K Camera and the features made available through the App.
It does not govern third-party applications, websites, platforms, or services that you may access through the App, including Apple services and applications selected through the iOS sharing interface. Those services are governed by their own privacy policies.
PRIVACY SUMMARY
The current version of Y2K Camera:
Does not require you to create an account.
Does not operate a Developer-controlled server for uploading your photos, videos, recordings, or editing projects.
Does not use third-party advertising SDKs.
Does not use third-party analytics or behavioral tracking SDKs.
Does not sell or rent personal information.
Does not use the Apple advertising identifier.
Does not track you across apps or websites owned by other companies.
Processes photos, videos, audio, editing settings, and optional location information primarily on your device.
Processes payments and subscriptions through Apple’s App Store and StoreKit.
INFORMATION ACCESSED OR PROCESSED
3.1 Camera
If you grant camera permission, the App accesses your device camera so that you can take photos and record videos.
Camera images are processed on your device to provide camera effects, filters, previews, timestamps, cropping, and other editing features.
We do not transmit your camera feed, captured photos, or captured videos to servers operated by us.
You may deny or revoke camera permission at any time in iOS Settings. Some camera features will not function without this permission.
3.2 Microphone
If you grant microphone permission, the App accesses your microphone when you record a video with sound.
Audio is recorded as part of the video file and is processed and stored on your device. We do not separately record, analyze, or transmit microphone audio to servers operated by us.
You may deny or revoke microphone permission in iOS Settings. Videos recorded without microphone permission may not contain audio.
3.3 Photos and Videos
If you grant Photos permission, the App may access photos and videos you select from your photo library so that you can import, edit, preview, save, or share them.
The App may also request permission to save photos and videos to your photo library.
Your media and editing projects may be stored in the App’s private storage area on your device. Media that you explicitly save to the Photos app is stored in your photo library and remains there even if you delete Y2K Camera, unless you separately delete that media from Photos.
If your photo library uses iCloud Photos, Apple may download or synchronize selected media through your Apple account. That transfer is provided and controlled by Apple, not by us.
We do not upload your photos, videos, thumbnails, or editing projects to servers operated by us.
3.4 Location Information
The App may request access to your location while the App is in use if you choose a feature or timestamp template that displays place information.
When used, location information is intended only to generate the requested place or location stamp. It is processed on your device and is not used to build a location history or transmitted to servers operated by us.
The App does not access location information unless the relevant feature requires it and you grant permission.
You may deny or revoke location permission in iOS Settings. Features that require place information may not work without this permission.
3.5 App Settings and Project Information
The App stores certain information locally to remember your choices and operate its features. This may include:
Selected camera effects and filters.
Timestamp settings and custom date text.
Crop, rotation, trim, and editing settings.
Auto-save and silent-shooting preferences.
Locally created project identifiers.
Project creation dates and media durations.
Local file paths and thumbnails used to organize projects.
Purchase entitlement status needed to determine whether paid features are unlocked.
This information is stored on your device using the App’s private storage or iOS preferences. We do not transmit it to servers operated by us.
3.6 Purchases and Subscriptions
The App offers in-app purchases and auto-renewable subscriptions through Apple’s App Store and StoreKit.
Apple processes payment information, billing details, refunds, subscription management, and your Apple Account information. We do not receive or store your full payment card number, bank account details, or Apple Account password.
The App may receive limited purchase information from Apple, such as:
The product identifier purchased.
Whether a transaction has been verified.
Whether a subscription is active, expired, revoked, or pending.
The subscription expiration date, where applicable.
A transaction status needed to provide or restore paid features.
This information is used only to provide, verify, restore, and manage access to purchased features. In the current version, entitlement information is maintained on your device and is not transmitted to a Developer-operated server.
Apple’s handling of purchase information is governed by Apple’s privacy policy and applicable App Store terms.
3.7 Network and Web Page Information
The App uses a network connection for limited purposes, including:
Loading this Privacy Policy and the Terms of Use.
Connecting to Apple services for product information, purchases, subscription verification, purchase restoration, and subscription management.
Accessing media stored in iCloud Photos when you select it through Apple’s photo library services.
When you open the Privacy Policy or Terms of Use, the web hosting provider may automatically receive ordinary web request information, such as your IP address, browser or device information, requested page, date and time, and cookies or similar web storage used by the hosting service.
This information is processed by the hosting provider under its own terms and privacy practices. We do not use these pages for advertising or cross-app tracking.
3.8 Information You Send to Us
If you contact us by email, we may receive your email address, the contents of your message, attachments you choose to provide, and any other information you voluntarily send.
We use this information to respond to your request, provide support, investigate issues, and maintain appropriate business records.
Please do not send sensitive personal information, payment credentials, passwords, or media that is not necessary for your support request.
HOW WE USE INFORMATION
We process information only as reasonably necessary to:
Provide camera, recording, importing, editing, saving, and sharing features.
Apply filters, effects, timestamps, crops, rotations, and video trims.
Save your settings and local editing projects.
Process, verify, and restore in-app purchases.
Respond to support messages.
Maintain the security and proper operation of the App.
Comply with applicable legal obligations.
Protect the rights, safety, and integrity of users, the Developer, Apple, and others.
We do not use your photos, videos, audio, location, or editing projects to train artificial intelligence models.
SHARING AND DISCLOSURE
We do not sell or rent personal information.
Information may be disclosed only in the following limited circumstances:
At Your Direction. If you use the iOS sharing interface, content you select is sent to the application, person, or service you choose. We do not control how the selected recipient processes that content.
Apple Services. Apple processes App Store purchases, subscriptions, refunds, purchase restoration, iCloud Photos access, and other operating-system services.
Service Providers. The provider hosting our Privacy Policy and Terms of Use may process ordinary web request information when those pages are opened.
Legal Requirements. We may disclose information if required by applicable law, regulation, legal process, or a valid governmental request.
Protection of Rights. We may disclose information where reasonably necessary to investigate fraud, security issues, violations of these Terms, or threats to the rights and safety of users or others.
Business Transfer. If the App or its business is transferred to another operator, relevant business records may be transferred subject to applicable law and continued protection under this Privacy Policy.
Because the current version does not operate a Developer-controlled media or account server, we generally do not possess your locally stored photos, videos, audio, location information, or project files and cannot disclose data that we do not have.
DATA RETENTION
Photos, videos, thumbnails, projects, settings, and purchase entitlement information stored by the App remain on your device until you delete the relevant item, clear the App’s data where supported, or uninstall the App.
Deleting the App generally removes information stored in the App’s private storage. It does not automatically delete media that you previously saved to the Photos app.
Apple retains purchase and subscription records according to Apple’s own legal obligations and retention policies.
If you contact us by email, we may retain the communication for as long as reasonably necessary to provide support, resolve disputes, prevent abuse, and meet legal obligations.
Web hosting providers may retain technical request logs according to their own retention practices.
YOUR CHOICES AND CONTROLS
You can control camera, microphone, Photos, and location permissions through iOS Settings.
You may use Apple’s limited Photos access option, where available, to select only specific photos or videos.
You may delete projects from within the App.
You may delete saved media through the Photos app.
You may manage or cancel subscriptions through your Apple Account settings.
You may uninstall the App to remove information in the App’s private local storage.
You may contact us at skyfishltd@outlook.com to ask privacy-related questions or request access to, correction of, or deletion of personal information that you have directly provided to us, such as support emails.
Because we do not operate an account or cloud media service, we normally cannot access or delete data stored only on your device. You must delete such data using the App, iOS Settings, the Photos app, or by uninstalling the App.
Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under applicable privacy law, including rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, or object to certain processing and the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection authority. We will honor applicable rights when legally required.
DATA SECURITY
We use reasonable administrative and technical measures appropriate to the nature of the information we process.
Media and project data are stored within the App’s private iOS storage or Apple’s Photos system. Access is also protected by the security features of your device and Apple operating systems.
No method of electronic storage or transmission is completely secure. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your device, Apple Account, device passcode, and backups.
CHILDREN’S PRIVACY
Y2K Camera is not directed to children under 13 or the minimum age required by applicable law to consent to the processing of personal information.
We do not knowingly collect personal information from children through a Developer-operated account or server.
If you believe a child has directly provided personal information to us, contact us at skyfishltd@outlook.com. We will review the request and delete the information where required by law.
INTERNATIONAL PROCESSING
Apple, web hosting providers, email providers, and other third-party services may process information in countries or regions other than where you live.
Their processing is governed by their own privacy policies and applicable data transfer safeguards. Where we directly process personal information, we will use appropriate safeguards as required by applicable law.
THIRD-PARTY SERVICES
Y2K Camera may interact with services provided by Apple, including the App Store, StoreKit, Photos, iCloud Photos, and the iOS sharing interface.
When you choose to use a third-party application or service, its collection and use of information are governed by its own terms and privacy policy.
We are not responsible for the privacy practices of independent third parties.
NO ADVERTISING OR CROSS-APP TRACKING
The current version of Y2K Camera does not display third-party behavioral advertisements and does not use information from the App to track you across applications or websites owned by other companies.
If these practices change in a future version, we will update this Privacy Policy and make any permission requests or disclosures required by law and Apple policy.
CHANGES TO THIS PRIVACY POLICY
We may update this Privacy Policy to reflect changes to the App, legal requirements, or our information practices.
When we make changes, we will update the “Last Updated” date and publish the revised policy at the Privacy Policy link associated with the App.
If a change materially affects how personal information is processed, we will provide additional notice where required by applicable law.
