Weather Quest Privacy Policy

Protecting your privacy is important. Weather Quest requires some data in order to obtain and provide weather information. It is also important that you know how your data is used by Weather Quest.

Weather Quest uses the following data from your device:

Your device's location

This data is used in the following ways:

Internet Connection

Weather Quest uses your device's internet connection to send the necessary information to the Open Weather Map server in order to obtain weather information. This data includes a location for the weather information request, but does not specify any data about you or that it is your device’s physical location. None of your personal information is shared with Open Weather Map.

When you use the built-in location search function in Weather Quest, the characters typed into the search bar are sent to the Here.com server to request location suggestions based on your search. The information shared with Here.com is limited to those characters. None of your personal information is shared with Here.com.

Device Location

Should you choose to allow Weather Quest to access your device location for a weather information request for your current location, Weather Quest uses your device location to obtain your device’s approximate coordinates (longitude and latitude). These coordinates are sent to Open Weather Map to obtain weather information for that location. This location data is strictly in the form of longitude and latitude coordinates, and does not include any other information about you or your device.

Weather Quest

The most recent location and weather information used in the Weather Quest app is stored locally on your device to provide a smooth and quick user experience. Any older data is deleted.

The developer of Weather Quest, Steven Faliszewski, does not obtain or store any of your personal data, including the data mentioned above, or share it with any other party.
