Mohamed Alhefnawi ("we," "our," or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our mobile application, WatchSync (the "Application").
By using the Application, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy.
## 1. Information We Collect
We may collect information about you in a variety of ways. The information we may collect via the Application includes:
### Personal Data
Personally identifiable information, such as your name, email address, and basic profile information (like your profile picture), which you voluntarily give to us when you register with the Application using **Google Sign-In**.
### Data from In-App Purchases
We use Google Play's In-App Billing service to process "Pro" version purchases. We do not collect or store any payment or credit card information. Google Play handles all payment transactions.
### Session Data
Information you create or provide while using the Application, such as:
* Movie filters (genres, platforms, rating, year).
* Movie likes and dislikes (swipes).
* Session data (which users are in a session).
* Shared Watchlists (the list of matched movies).
* AI Mediator inputs (your text-based "moods").
### Data from Third-Party Services
* **Firebase:** We use Firebase (a Google service) for core functionalities, including user authentication (Google Sign-In) and database storage (Cloud Firestore) to save your sessions and watchlists.
* **Google AdMob:** We use Google AdMob to display ads in the free version of the Application. AdMob may collect device information and location data to show personalized ads.
* **Google AI (Gemini):** For the "AI Mediator" feature, we send the text "moods" you provide to Google's Generative AI API to generate recommendations. We do not store these moods after the recommendation is provided.
## 2. How We Use Your Information
Having accurate information permits us to provide you with a smooth, efficient, and customized experience. Specifically, we use information collected via the Application to:
* Create and manage your account.
* Enable the core "matching" functionality between you and your friends.
* Store your filter preferences and matched movies (Shared Watchlist).
* Display personalized advertisements in the free version.
* Process your In-App Purchases (via Google Play) to upgrade you to "Pro".
* Fulfill and manage your "Restore Purchases" requests.
## 3. Disclosure of Your Information
We do not sell your personal information. We may share information we have collected about you in certain situations:
* **With other Users:** When you join a session, other members of that session will be able to see your name (from your Google account) to identify who they are matching with.
* **With Third-Party Service Providers:** We share information with our third-party vendors (Google) who perform services for us, including Firebase (database), AdMob (ads), Google Play (billing), and Google AI (recommendations).
## 4. Security of Your Information
We use administrative, technical, and physical security measures (provided by Firebase) to help protect your personal information. While we have taken reasonable steps to secure the personal information you provide to us, please be aware that no security measures are perfect or impenetrable.
## 5. Children's Privacy
Our services are not intended for use by children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
