Overview
Vibely is a Chrome extension that replaces your new tab page with a productivity dashboard. We are committed to protecting your privacy.
Data Collection
Vibely does not collect, transmit, or sell any personal data. All user data is stored locally in your browser using Chrome's built-in storage APIs (chrome.storage.sync and chrome.storage.local).
What is stored locally:
Your name (if provided)
Tasks, goals and notes
Theme and widget preferences
Pomodoro session counts
Screen time data (sites visited and time spent)
Water intake count
Event reminders and bucket list items
Smart notification settings and patterns
Quick links
What is NOT collected:
No personal information is sent to any server
No browsing history is transmitted externally
No analytics or tracking scripts are used
No cookies are set by this extension
No user accounts or sign-ups are required
External Services
Vibely connects to the following third-party services solely for feature functionality. All services used are free, open, and require no API keys or licenses:
wttr.in (free, open-source) — Weather data. Only your approximate location (determined by IP by the weather service) is used to show local weather. Vibely does not send your location data.
api.quotable.io (free, no API key) — Random inspirational quotes. No user data is sent. If unavailable, offline fallback quotes are used.
open.er-api.com (free, no API key) — Currency exchange rates for the unit converter. Only fetches USD-based rates. No user data is sent. If unavailable, offline fallback rates are used.
Google Favicons (free, public service) — google.com/s2/favicons — Fetches website icons for the Quick Links and Bookmarks features. Only the domain name is sent.
Google Fonts (free, open-source licenses) — Loads Inter and Playfair Display fonts via fonts.googleapis.com.
Font Awesome 6.5 (free tier, open-source) — Icon library loaded via cdnjs.cloudflare.com.
No paid APIs, subscriptions, or licensed services are used.
