Privacy Policy for Tudio

Effective Date: April 13, 2025

Tudio ("we", "our", or "us") respects your privacy and is committed to protecting your personal data. This Privacy Policy will inform you how we collect, use, and safeguard your information when you use our mobile application, Tudio(the "App").

By using the App, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy.

1. Information We Collect

Tudio is designed to function primarily offline, storing data locally on your device. We collect the following types of information:

  • Audio Recordings: The App's core function is to record audio using your device's microphone when you explicitly initiate a recording. These recordings are created solely based on your actions.
  • Metadata Associated with Recordings: When you save a recording, we store information you provide or that is generated by the App, such as:
    • Title you assign to the recording.
    • Status you assign (e.g., Draft, In Progress, Completed).
    • Timestamp of creation or modification (generated automatically).
    • File path or identifier for the locally stored audio file.
  • Permissions Data: We request the RECORD_AUDIO permission solely to enable the audio recording feature when you use it. We do not access the microphone at any other time.

Important: All audio recordings and associated metadata are stored locally on your device within the App's designated storage area. This data is not automatically uploaded, backed up, or transmitted to us or any third-party servers.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information collected solely for the purpose of providing the App's functionality:

  • To allow you to record audio notes.
  • To save and store your audio recordings and their associated metadata (title, status, timestamp) on your device.
  • To enable you to play back your stored audio recordings within the App.
  • To allow you to manage and organize your recordings (e.g., update status, delete, sort, group the list display).
  • To respond to your support requests or inquiries if you contact us.

3. Data Storage and Security

  • Local Storage: As mentioned, all your audio recordings and metadata are stored locally on your device's internal storage or SD card (within the App's specific directory). The data resides solely on your device unless you manually export or share it using other applications or operating system features.
  • Security: We implement reasonable administrative and technical safeguards standard within the Android platform to protect the information stored locally within the App. However, please be aware that no method of electronic storage or transmission over the internet is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. You are responsible for the security of your own device.

4. Data Sharing and Disclosure

We do not share, sell, rent, or trade your audio recordings or associated metadata with any third parties. The data remains on your device under your control.

We may disclose information if required to do so by law or in response to valid requests by public authorities (e.g., a court or a government agency).

5. Permissions

The App requires the following permission:

  • RECORD_AUDIO: This permission is essential for the core functionality of capturing audio when you start a recording within the App. The microphone is only active when you explicitly initiate recording.

6. Your Data Management Rights

You have direct control over the data stored by the App on your device:

  • Access and Playback: You can access and listen to your recordings within the App.
  • Update: You can update the status metadata associated with your recordings.
  • Deletion: You can delete individual recordings or potentially all App data through the App's interface or your device's application settings. Deleting a recording within the App permanently removes the audio file and its associated metadata from the App's storage on your device. Please note that standard file recovery methods might still be possible depending on your device's operating system until the storage space is overwritten.

7. Children's Privacy

The App is not intended for use by children under the age of 13 (or the relevant age of consent in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect any personal information from children under 13. If you are a parent or guardian and you become aware that your child has provided us with information without your consent, please contact us. If we become aware that we have collected information from a child under the age of 13 without verification of parental consent, we will take steps to remove that information from storage (though, as the data is local, this primarily means advising the parent on deletion).

8. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy within the App or on its Google Play Store listing. You are advised to review this Privacy Policy periodically for any changes. Changes to this Privacy Policy are effective when they are posted. Your continued use of the App after the changes constitutes your acceptance of the revised policy.
