This privacy policy describes how Top Tipster Racing (“we”, “the app”) collects, uses, and protects your information. The app is a fantasy sports racing application where you make race selections, join competitions, and view leaderboards and results. It is free to use and does not involve real-money gambling.

1. Information we collect

Account information

  • Email address – when you sign up, used to create and secure your account and to sign in.
  • Username – chosen by you at sign-up, shown on leaderboards and to other participants in your competitions.
  • Password – stored securely by our authentication provider; we do not have access to your actual password.

Competition and selections data

  • Display name – when you join a competition (e.g. via access code), you may provide a display name used in that competition.
  • Race selections – the picks you make (e.g. horse or “favourite” per race), stored so we can show your results, calculate points, and display leaderboards.
  • Competition participation – which competitions you have joined and when, so we can show you the right races, results, and leaderboards.

Quick access (optional)

  • If you use the in-app “Quick access”, we store a link between your account and a 6-digit quick access code so that a shared device can display content for your competitions. This data is only used to provide that feature.

Reminder preferences (optional)

  • If you turn on reminders for a competition, the app stores which competitions you have enabled for reminders on your device only (using local storage). This is used to send you optional local notifications (e.g. about an hour before selections close). We do not receive or store this preference on our servers.

What we do not collect

  • We do not collect precise location data. We do not use your data for advertising or sell your data to third parties. The app does not use third-party analytics or tracking that identifies you.

2. How we use your information

We use your data only to run the app:

  • To create and manage your account and let you sign in.
  • To store and display your race selections and results, and to calculate points.
  • To show your username or display name on leaderboards and to other participants in the same competition.
  • To let you join competitions (e.g. with an access code) and to show you the correct races and results for those competitions.
  • To provide optional features such as Quick access and local reminder notifications if you choose to use them.

We do not use your information for marketing or advertising, and we do not sell or share your data with third parties for their marketing.

3. Where your data is stored

Your account and app data (email, username, selections, competition participation, etc.) are stored and processed using Supabase, a third-party hosting and database service. Data is transmitted over HTTPS. Supabase processes data in accordance with its own privacy and security practices to provide us with authentication and database services. We do not use your data for any purpose other than running the app as described in this policy.

4. Data retention and deletion

We keep your data for as long as your account exists. You can delete your account at any time from within the app (Account → Delete account). When you delete your account, we permanently remove:

  • Your account and authentication details
  • Your profile (username)
  • Your competition participations
  • Your daily selections
  • Any quick access codes linked to your account
  • Any related join requests

After deletion, we do not retain copies of this data for longer than is necessary for normal backup and system operation. You can also sign out without deleting your account; your data will remain until you delete the account.

5. Children and age

The app is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you are under 16, you may need a parent or guardian’s consent to use the app in some regions. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will take steps to delete it.

6. Security

We use industry-standard measures to protect your data: secure authentication, encrypted connections (HTTPS), and access controls. You are responsible for keeping your sign-in details secure. If you think your account has been compromised, please change your password or contact us.

7. Changes to this policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. We will post the updated policy here and change the “Last updated” date. Continued use of the app after changes means you accept the updated policy. For significant changes, we may notify you in the app or via the contact details you have provided.

8. Your rights

You can access and update your account details (e.g. username) in the app. You can delete your account and associated data at any time via Account → Delete account.
