RenterShield Privacy Policy

RenterShield ("the App") is developed by John San Pietro. This Privacy Policy describes how the App handles your information.
Data Storage
All data you enter into RenterShield is stored locally on your device. This includes your tenant profile, complaint records, photos, audio recordings, lease documents, move-in condition documentation, and rent payment history. None of this data is transmitted to any external server, cloud service, or third party.
Data We Do Not Collect
RenterShield does not collect, transmit, or share any personal data. We do not use analytics, tracking, advertising, or any third-party services. We have no servers and no access to your data.
Device Permissions
The App may request the following device permissions:
- Camera: To take photos and videos of apartment conditions as evidence for your complaints and move-in documentation.
- Photo Library: To select existing photos from your library and to save evidence photos to your camera roll.
- Microphone: To record audio evidence for noise and other complaints.
These permissions are used solely to create evidence that is stored locally on your device. No media is uploaded or shared unless you explicitly choose to do so via email or the system share sheet.
The App allows you to compose and send emails to your landlord using your device's built-in mail client. The App does not store, read, or have access to your email account. Email content is generated on your device and sent through Apple's Mail framework. The App only records that an email was sent (date and summary) for your reference.
Data Deletion
You can delete any or all of your data at any time from within the App. Uninstalling the App will permanently remove all stored data from your device.
Children's Privacy
RenterShield is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect any information from children.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected with an updated effective date.
