This privacy policy applies to Simple File Server for Quest (hereby referred to as "Application"), developed by Jayaram Mani Kumar Yakkala (hereby referred to as "Service Provider") as a commercial service. This service is intended for use AS IS.
Information Collection and Use
The Application does not collect personal data. However, for the purpose of file access and server functionality, it may process the following information:
- Device IP Address – Required to establish a local WebDAV server connection.
- Server Logs – The Application may log the number of requests made to the WebDAV server for performance tracking.
- WiFi Network Information – Ensures that the client (PC/phone) and Quest are connected to the same local network.
- Storage Access – The Application requires access to read and write files on the Quest’s internal storage to enable file management through WebDAV. This is necessary for users to upload, rename, and delete files via a connected device.
The Application does not collect precise location data, store user information, or share data with third parties. All interactions happen within your local network, and no data is transmitted over the internet.
Security & Access
- Local Access Only – The WebDAV server can only be accessed from devices connected to the same WiFi network as the Quest.
- Authentication Required – Users must enter a username and password to access storage.
- No Background Processes – The Application runs only when actively enabled and stops once closed.
Third-Party Access
The Application does not share, transmit, or sell any user data to third parties. The WebDAV server operates locally and does not send files or metadata to external servers.
Opt-Out Rights
Users can stop all functionality by simply closing the Application. To remove the Application completely, users may uninstall it via the Quest settings.
Data Retention
Since the Application does not collect personal data, there is no retention of user information. Server logs (if any) are only stored temporarily for session-based performance monitoring.
Children's Privacy
This Application does not knowingly collect data from children under 13. Users must be at least 16 years old to use the Application or obtain parental consent.
Changes to Privacy Policy
The Service Provider may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be reflected on this page, and continued use of the Application implies acceptance of any modifications.
