This document describes information and precautions when using 'Scroll Screenshot', also describe how the image data is used in the application. When using this application, users need to agree to the privacy policy.

 

1. Applications:

       Scroll Screenshot is an application that captures and stitches vertical screenshots. This application is built and developed by us, using this application for profit without our permission may raise copyright infringement issues.

 

2. Permissions:

2.1. Manage Files:

       Scroll Screenshot requires 'Manage Files' permission as an essential permission and will not be able to function if this permission has not been granted. The application uses the 'Manage Files' permission to be able to perform operations with files in the device such as saving the resulting image to a directory and displaying the image selected by the user.

2.2. Display over other apps:

       'Display over other apps' is required every time the user is about to capture screenshot. The app uses this permission to display the camera and other components (stop area, cancel area, finish area...) make it easier for users to manipulate during screen capture.

2.3. Accessibility Service:

       'Accessibility Service' is required when user selects auto capture method (or choose Scroll Screen in settings). The application uses this service to perform scrolling gestures automatically.
From Android version 11 and above, 'Accessibility Service' is also used to capture screenshots instead of Media Projection.

2.4. Media Projection:

       'Media Projection' is required when the user initiates the screen capture process (if using a version below Android 11 and have not opened the Accessibility Service). The app uses this permission to read and capture screen content.

 

3. Image & Save:

  • The resulting image displayed after the capture is complete is a preview only and will not be automatically saved to the device's storage.
  • The preview image may have some points that do not match the adjacent images, users can change and edit according to their needs before choosing 'Save'. If the user exits without choose 'Save', the image will be discarded.
  • Images will be saved with the formats and in the directory specified in the settings. Saved images will not affect other images, unless the user actively renames an existing image that accidentally matches the format of the resulting image (this may cause the image to be overwritten).

 

4. Data & Security:

  • The application does not perform any other acts to obtain unauthorized information from the user. We understand and fully respect the privacy of our users.
  • The default save directory created when the app is first installed is completely free of any user's personal data, unless a 'ScrollScreenshot' folder already exists inside the main storage of the device. The app will read all images in the current save directory (set in Settings) aims to allow users to select captured images to display and review (performs zooming without image distortion).
    Any information actively provided by the user, such as selected images, is also for display within the application only. All images are decided to share with third parties or not by the user.

 

5. Terms & Usage:

  • This application is only intended to capture and save screen content publicly. As a result, protected apps will prevent the app from recording screen content, such as Google's incognito tab which will show a black background image when capture screenshot.
  • This application is not intended to collect information (even with 3rd parties) and we will not be responsible if the user uses the application for these purposes. For example, capturing the content of a conversation between two or more people requires the consent of the other parties.

 

6. Policy Changes:

       All policy-related changes will be updated in this document. And updated changes take effect immediately, so you should always check this document regularly after an update for the latest policy changes.
