Privacy Policy for RentMaster

This Privacy Policy describes how RentMaster ("we", "our", or "us") collects, uses, and protects information when you use our mobile application. RentMaster is designed to assist landlords, property owners, and managers in organizing rental properties, tracking payments, and sending tenant notifications.

1. Information We Collect

When you use RentMaster, we may collect and process the following information:

  • Account Information: When you sign in (e.g., via Google Authentication or Phone number), we collect your name, email address, and authentication credentials.
  • Property & Tenant Records: Property names, flat/unit numbers, tenant names, phone numbers, monthly rent amounts, security deposits, and lease dates that you enter into the application.
  • Payment Ledger: Rent payment records, payment dates, amounts collected, payment modes (cash, UPI, bank transfer), and transaction notes.
  • Device & Diagnostic Data: Basic diagnostic logs and crash reports to ensure app stability and performance.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the collected information exclusively to:

  • Provide, maintain, and improve the RentMaster property management features.
  • Calculate rent dues, balances, and overdue accounts.
  • Generate pre-formatted payment receipts and WhatsApp reminder text templates for your convenience.
  • Enable secure synchronization and backup across your authorized devices via Google Firebase.
  • Provide user support and address technical issues.

We do not sell, rent, trade, or monetize your personal or tenant data to any third parties or advertising networks.

3. Data Storage & Security

  • Offline-First Architecture: Your property and financial records are stored securely on your local device using encrypted local databases.
  • Cloud Storage & Encryption: Where cloud sync is enabled, data is transmitted using industry-standard SSL/TLS encryption and stored on secure Google Firebase servers.
  • Payment Processing: RentMaster does not process direct banking or credit card transactions. UPI payment links generated by the app redirect to your installed third-party UPI apps (such as Google Pay, PhonePe, or Paytm). We do not store bank account PINs, passwords, or UPI credentials.

4. Third-Party Services

RentMaster integrates with trusted third-party providers strictly for functionality:

  • Google Play Services
  • Google Firebase (Firebase Authentication, Cloud Firestore)

These services process data under Google's Privacy Policy: https://policies.google.com/privacy.

5. Data Retention & Deletion Rights

  • You retain full control over your data. You can edit, void, or permanently delete property records, flats, tenants, and payment records directly within the app at any time.
  • If you wish to permanently delete your account and all associated synchronized cloud data, you can do so by contacting us at the email below, and all your records will be purged within 30 days.

6. Children’s Privacy

RentMaster is intended for adult property managers and landlords (ages 18 and older). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under the age of 13.
