This Privacy Policy explains how the RailBoard mobile application
("RailBoard", "the app", "we", "us", or "our") handles information when you
use it. RailBoard shows live train departure and arrival information for
Indian Railways stations. By using the app, you agree to the practices
described in this policy.
RailBoard is an independent, unofficial application and is not affiliated
with, endorsed by, or connected to Indian Railways, CRIS, IRCTC, or any
government body.
1. INFORMATION WE COLLECT
We have designed RailBoard to collect as little as possible.
1.1 Information you give us
RailBoard has no sign-up, login, or user account. We do not ask for or
collect your name, email address, phone number, or any similar personal
details.
1.2 Information stored only on your device
- Recently viewed stations. To let you quickly return to stations you
check often, the app saves a short list of recently selected station
codes locally on your device. This list stays on your device, is not
transmitted to us, and is removed if you clear the app's data or
uninstall the app.
1.3 Information sent when you view a station
When you open a station's board, the app sends that station's code (for
example, "NDLS") to our server so it can fetch and return the current
train board for that station. These requests do not include your name or
any account identifier. Standard technical information that any internet
request carries (such as your IP address) may be processed by our server
and hosting provider to deliver the response and to protect the service
from abuse. We do not use this information to build a profile of you and
we do not sell it.
1.4 Information collected by advertising (Google AdMob)
RailBoard displays ads served by Google AdMob (part of Google's
advertising services). To show ads, AdMob and Google Play services may
collect and process:
- your device's advertising identifier (Advertising ID);
- device information (such as device model, operating system version,
language, and general location inferred from IP address);
- app-usage and ad-interaction data (such as ads shown and tapped).
This information is collected directly by Google under Google's own
privacy policy, not by us. See "Advertising" below.
2. HOW WE USE INFORMATION
We use the limited information above only to:
- fetch and display live train board information you request;
- remember your recently viewed stations on your device;
- operate, maintain, and protect the service; and
- display advertising through Google AdMob.
We do not use your information for any other purpose, and we do not sell
your information.
3. ADVERTISING
RailBoard is supported by ads served through Google AdMob. Google may use
the Advertising ID and related data to show and measure ads, including
personalised ads where permitted.
You can control ad personalisation and reset or delete your Advertising ID
at any time in your device settings:
- Android: Settings > Privacy (or Google) > Ads.

4. DATA SHARING AND DISCLOSURE
We do not sell your personal information. Information is shared only as
described in this policy:
- Advertising: with Google (AdMob / Google Play services) to provide ads.
- Service operation: with our hosting/infrastructure providers to run the
server that returns train board data.
- Legal: we may disclose information if required by law or to protect the
rights, safety, or security of our users or the service.
5. DATA RETENTION
- Recently viewed stations are kept on your device until you clear the
app's data or uninstall the app.
- We do not maintain user accounts and do not store personal profiles.
- Ad-related data is retained by Google according to its own policies.
6. SECURITY
Communication between the app and our server uses encrypted HTTPS
connections. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and
we cannot guarantee absolute security, but we take reasonable measures to
protect the limited information involved.
7. CHILDREN'S PRIVACY
RailBoard is intended for a general audience and is not directed to children
under the age of 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your country). We do
not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a
child has provided information through the app, please contact us so we can
address it.
8. YOUR RIGHTS
Depending on where you live (for example, under the UK GDPR, EU GDPR, or
similar laws), you may have rights to access, correct, or delete personal
information, to object to or restrict certain processing, and to control
ad personalisation as described above. Because RailBoard does not require an
account and does not store personal profiles, most of your data (your
recent stations) is under your direct control on your device. For requests

9. THIRD-PARTY SERVICES
RailBoard relies on the following third-party services, each governed by its
own privacy policy:
- Google AdMob / Google Play services — https://policies.google.com/privacy
Train information displayed in the app originates from publicly available
Indian Railways enquiry sources and is provided for general information
only; it may be delayed or inaccurate. Always confirm timings and platform
numbers with the official station board before boarding.
10. CHANGES TO THIS POLICY
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will
revise the "Last updated" date above and, where appropriate, provide notice
within the app or store listing. Your continued use of RailBoard after an
update means you accept the revised policy.
