# Privacy Policy for Klok
**Effective date:** [EFFECTIVE DATE]
This Privacy Policy describes how Klok ("the app", "we") handles your information. Klok is a personal time-tracking app for freelancers, developed
by Henry Salazar
## 1. Data we collect
**Data stored locally on your device:**
- Time entries (start/end timestamps, duration, notes you type)
- Client information you enter (name, hourly rate, currency, color)
- App preferences (onboarding state, language)
- Active timer state
All of this stays on your device. We have no server, cloud sync, or user accounts. We never see or transmit this data.
**Data processed by third parties:**
- **RevenueCat (subscription provider):** when you start a Pro subscription or free trial, RevenueCat receives an anonymous identifier and your
purchase events to validate your access. RevenueCat's privacy policy: https://www.revenuecat.com/privacy
- **Google Play Billing (purchases):** Google handles payment processing. Google Play's privacy policy applies.
## 2. Permissions we request
- **Notifications:** to show the running timer in your notification shade and lock screen. The app works without this permission, but you won't
see the timer there.
- **Foreground service:** to keep the timer running reliably while the app is in the background. Required for accurate time tracking.
- **Boot completed:** so that if your phone reboots while a timer is running, we can restore it.
- **Internet:** to communicate with RevenueCat for subscription validation. Only used when you interact with Pro features.
We do **not** request location, contacts, calendar, camera, microphone, files, or any other sensitive permission.
## 3. How we use your data
- To run the app (track time, show reports, generate PDFs).
- To validate your Pro subscription via RevenueCat.
- We do **not** sell your data, share it with advertisers, run analytics on it, or use it for any other purpose.
## 4. Data retention and deletion
- Local data stays on your device until you delete the app or clear its storage. Uninstalling the app deletes all local data.
- RevenueCat retains subscription records per their own policy.
- You can request deletion of your RevenueCat record by emailing us at the contact below.
## 5. Children
Klok is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children. If a parent believes their child has shared data with
us, contact us and we will delete it.
## 6. International data transfers
If you use Klok outside the country where RevenueCat or Google operate, your subscription data may be transferred internationally. Both providers
use standard contractual protections.
## 7. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy. Significant changes will be reflected by a new "Effective date" at the top. Continued use of the app after a change
means you accept the updated policy.
## 8. Data retention and deletion
You have full control over your data. Here are your options:
**Local data deletion (on your device):**
Uninstall the app from your Android launcher, or go to Settings → Apps → Klok → Storage → "Clear data". This immediately and permanently removes
all your time entries, clients, and preferences. No copies remain on any server — we never had them.
**Subscription data deletion (RevenueCat):**
If you've ever had an active Pro subscription or trial, RevenueCat retains an anonymous record of that transaction. To request deletion of that
If you've ever had an active Pro subscription or trial, RevenueCat retains an anonymous record of that transaction. To request deletion of that
record:
1. Email us at **hjsmipucf@gmail.com** with the subject line "Klok — Data deletion request"
2. Include the Google Play email associated with the purchase (we need it to locate the record)
3. We process requests within **30 days** and confirm by replying to the same email
**Subscription cancellation via Google Play:**
Independent of the above, you can cancel your subscription anytime from Google Play → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions → Klok.
Cancellation stops future charges but does not delete the historical record — for that, use the email process above.
