Overview

PopPass transfers Apple Music playback between your personal devices. Your privacy is fundamental to how the app is designed — all data stays within your own Apple accounts and never leaves your control.

Data We Collect and How It Is Used

Apple Music Information

PopPass reads your currently playing song (title, artist, album, playback position, and Apple Music catalog ID) to transfer playback to another device. This information is used only to resume playback and is never stored persistently on your device or sent to any server controlled by the developer.

Device Information

PopPass stores your device's name and a randomly generated device identifier in your private iCloud database so your other devices can see that it is available for handoff. This record is updated every few seconds while the app is active and is only visible to you.

iCloud (CloudKit)

All coordination data — device presence heartbeats and playback state payloads — is stored exclusively in your private CloudKit container (iCloud.com.jsanand.poppass). This container is governed by Apple's iCloud privacy policy and is accessible only to you. The developer has no access to this data.

Data We Do Not Collect

• No account registration or login of any kind

• No analytics or usage tracking

• No advertising identifiers

• No crash reporting sent to the developer

• No data stored on the developer's servers — ever

Third-Party Services

PopPass uses two Apple platform services:

Apple Music / MusicKit — to read and resume playback. Governed by Apple's Privacy Policy.

iCloud / CloudKit — to coordinate handoffs between your devices. Governed by Apple's iCloud Terms and Privacy Policy.

No other third-party SDKs, frameworks, or services are used.

Data Retention

Handoff records in iCloud are automatically deleted by the app immediately after they are consumed (within seconds of a successful transfer). Device presence records expire and are ignored after 30 seconds of inactivity.

Children's Privacy

PopPass does not knowingly collect any information from anyone, including children under 13. The app contains no user accounts, no forms, and no data entry of any kind.

Your Rights

Because PopPass stores no data on developer-controlled servers, there is nothing for the developer to delete or export on your behalf. To remove all app data, simply delete the app — iCloud data associated with it can be removed from Settings → [your name] → iCloud → Manage Account Storage.

Changes to This Policy

If this policy changes in a material way, the updated policy will be posted with a new effective date. Continued use of the app after any update constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
