PlayDate – Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy describes how PlayDate ("we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, and shares information when you use the PlayDate mobile application ("App"). By using the App, you agree to the terms of this policy.

1. Information We Collect

We do not directly collect personal information. PlayDate stores all user data (subscription status, saved cards, language preference, tutorial progress) locally on your device using AsyncStorage. This data never leaves your device and is deleted when you uninstall the App.

Advertising (free plan only): If you are on the free plan, the App displays ads powered by Google AdMob. Google's SDK may automatically collect the following to serve relevant ads:

• Your device's IP address
• Device identifiers (e.g. Advertising ID)
• General usage interactions with ads
• Approximate location (derived from IP)

This data is collected and processed by Google, not by us. You can review Google's privacy practices at https://policies.google.com/privacy. On iOS, this collection requires your consent via the App Tracking Transparency prompt.

Paid subscribers (Spark / Flame): Ads are not shown to paid subscribers.

Purchase information: Payments are processed entirely by Apple App Store or Google Play. We do not collect, store, or access your payment details — only your subscription status is stored locally on your device.

2. Subscription Plans

PlayDate offers the following auto-renewable subscription options:

Auto-renewal: Subscriptions automatically renew at the end of each billing period unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the renewal date. Your account will be charged for renewal within 24 hours before the end of the current period.

Free trial: If a free trial is offered, any unused portion of a free trial period will be forfeited when you purchase a subscription.

Cancellation:

• iOS: You can manage or cancel your subscription at any time in Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions.
• Android: You can manage or cancel your subscription at any time in the Google Play Store → Subscriptions.

Cancelling stops future renewals. Your subscription remains active until the end of the current paid period — you will not receive a refund for the remaining period.

Upgrades and Downgrades: Switching between Spark and Flame takes effect immediately (upgrade) or at the start of the next billing period (downgrade).

3. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

• Provide, maintain, and improve the App
• Verify your subscription status and unlock the appropriate features
• Respond to your questions or support requests
• Send important notices about changes to the App or these terms
• Understand how users interact with the App (in aggregated, anonymous form)

We do not use your information for advertising or sell it to third parties.

4. Third-Party Services

The App uses the following third-party services that may collect data as described in their own privacy policies:

• Apple App Store / Google Play – payment processing and subscription management
• React Native IAP – in-app purchase integration (no personal data collected by this library)
• AsyncStorage – local on-device storage only; data never leaves your device

Aggregated, anonymized usage data may be shared with analytics providers to help us improve the App.

5. Data Storage and Security

The App stores your subscription status locally on your device. We do not maintain a server-side database of user data. We implement reasonable technical measures to protect any information we do handle, but no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure.

6. Children's Privacy

The App is not directed to children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.

7. Your Rights

You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of any personal information we hold about you by contacting us at the email below. Because we collect very little personal data, there may be nothing to delete beyond your local device data, which you can remove by uninstalling the App.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes by updating the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
