# Privacy Policy for Planwise

This Privacy Policy describes how Planwise ("the App," "we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, stores, and protects information when you use our mobile application. By using Planwise, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy.
## 1. Information We Collect
### 1.1 Account Information
When you create an account, we collect:
- **Name** — the display name you provide at signup
- **Email address** — used for authentication and account recovery
- **Password** — securely managed by Firebase Authentication; we never store or have access to your plaintext password
### 1.2 Content You Create
Planwise lets you create and store the following content **locally on your device**:
- Tasks (title, description, due date, priority, category, recurrence, reminders)
- Journal entries (title, content, mood rating, tags)
- Meetings (title, date/time, location, notes, attendee names, reminders)
This content is stored in a local on-device database and is **not** transmitted to our servers or any third party, except where noted in Section 2.
### 1.3 Diagnostic and Crash Data
We use Firebase Crashlytics to automatically collect crash reports and non-fatal error logs to help us identify and fix bugs. This may include:
- Device model, OS version
- App version and build number
- Stack traces at the time of a crash or error
- A randomly generated installation identifier (not linked to your name or email)
### 1.4 Information We Do NOT Collect
Planwise does **not** collect or request access to:
- Your location
- Your camera or photo library
- Your contacts
- Advertising identifiers
- Any behavioral analytics or tracking data for advertising purposes
## 2. How We Use Your Information

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties for marketing purposes.
## 3. Third-Party Services
Planwise uses the following third-party service providers, each of which processes data under its own privacy policy:
- **Firebase Authentication** (Google) — manages account creation and login
- **Cloud Firestore** (Google) — stores your account profile (name, email)
- **Firebase Crashlytics** (Google) — collects crash and diagnostic reports

## 4. Data Storage and Security
- Your task, journal, and meeting content is stored **locally on your device** and is not automatically backed up to any cloud service by Planwise.
- If you delete the app or reset your device, this locally-stored content will be permanently lost.
- Your account profile (name, email) is stored on Google's Firebase infrastructure with industry-standard security practices, including encryption in transit.
- We do not store your password; authentication is handled entirely by Firebase Authentication, which uses secure hashing and never exposes your password to us.
## 5. Data Retention and Deletion
- You can delete individual tasks, journal entries, or meetings at any time within the app.
- You can permanently delete your account from the Settings screen. This will:
- Delete your Firebase Authentication account
- Delete your profile document from Cloud Firestore
- Delete all locally-stored tasks, journal entries, and meetings on that device
- Deletion is immediate and cannot be undone.
## 6. Children's Privacy
Planwise is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can delete it.
## 7. Your Rights
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to:
- Access the personal information we hold about you
- Request correction of inaccurate information
- Request deletion of your account and associated data
- Withdraw consent at any time by deleting your account

## 8. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with a revised "Effective date." Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
