Privacy Policy for Picly

Last Updated: September 8, 2025

This Privacy Policy describes how Picly ("we", "us", or "our") collects, uses, and handles your information when you use our mobile application.

1. Information We Collect

The core of Picly is designed to be private and secure, with most of your content staying on your device.

Account Information: When you create an account, we collect the information necessary for authentication. If you use "Sign in with Apple," this may include your name and email address (or a private relay address if you choose to hide your email). If you use email/password sign-up, we collect your email address. This information is managed securely by our backend provider, Supabase.

Your Content (Photos & Videos): The photos and videos you capture with or import into Picly are the heart of the app. Crucially, this content is stored locally and privately on your device. We do not upload, view, or store your photos and videos on our servers.

Subscription Information: If you subscribe to Picly Pro, your purchase is processed by Apple through their official In-App Purchase system. We receive verification of your subscription status from Apple and our paywall provider, Superwall, but we do not collect or store your payment card information.

Anonymous Usage Data: We may collect anonymous analytics to help us understand how our app is being used, identify crashes, and improve the user experience. This data is not linked to your personal identity.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect for the following purposes:

To provide and maintain the core functionality of the app.

To authenticate your account and securely log you in.

To manage your subscription status and unlock Pro features.

To communicate with you about your account or app updates.

To improve the app and develop new features.

3. How We Share Your Information

We do not sell your personal data. We only share information with the following trusted third-party services that are essential for the app to function:

Supabase: Our backend provider for secure user authentication and for storing your account metadata (like your user ID and subscription status).

Apple: To process all In-App Purchase subscriptions through their secure StoreKit framework.

Superwall: Our paywall provider, which helps us manage and display subscription offers based on your status.

4. Data Storage and Security

Your primary content (your photos and videos) is stored on your device. Only your account information and subscription status are stored securely on our Supabase backend. We take reasonable measures to protect your information, and we rely on the industry-leading security of our backend partners.

5. Your Rights & Control

You are in control of your data.

You can manage your account information through the app's Profile screen.

You can manage your subscription through Apple's official subscription management page on your device.

You can initiate the deletion of your account and its associated data via the "Delete Account" option in the app, in compliance with App Store guidelines.

6. Children's Privacy

Picly is not intended for use by children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

7. Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new policy within the app or on our website.
