Privacy Policy for OmniCast

Last updated: 26 July 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how the OmniCast mobile application ("OmniCast", "the app", "we", "us") handles information. OmniCast is a weather app that merges multiple weather models into one forecast and offers extra planners (dog walk, horse care), radar, records and outlooks.

In short: We do not have any server or account system. We do not collect, store, sell, or share your personal data. There are no ads and no third-party tracking or analytics.

Information we collect

We do not collect any personal information about you. OmniCast has no user accounts, no login, and no backend server operated by us. We cannot see how you use the app.

Data stored on your device

To make the app work, OmniCast saves the following locally on your device only (using your device's standard app storage). This data never leaves your device and is never sent to us:

  • Your saved and recently used locations
  • Your settings (temperature unit, language, selected weather models, visible cards, notification preference)
  • Cached weather data (e.g. forecast history, climate normals and records) to keep the app fast and reduce data usage
  • A small internal flag to remember that you have seen the welcome screen

You can remove all of this at any time by clearing the app's storage or uninstalling the app.

Location

OmniCast does not access your device's GPS or location services and does not request any location permission.

You choose your location manually by searching for a place or picking it on the map. To provide a forecast for that place, the app sends the coordinates of the location you selected to the third-party weather services listed below. These coordinates are used only to retrieve weather data and are not linked to your identity.

Third-party services

To fetch weather information and map data, the app makes requests to the following third-party services. As with any internet request, these services automatically receive the coordinates of your chosen location and your device's IP address, and process them under their own privacy policies:

We recommend reviewing the privacy policies of these providers. We do not control and are not responsible for their practices.

Notifications

If you enable severe-weather alerts, OmniCast may send you local notifications (for example, for thunderstorms or heavy rain). These notifications are generated on your device from the weather data described above. We do not use push-notification services and do not collect any information through notifications. You can turn notifications off at any time in the app's settings or in your device settings.

Permissions

OmniCast requests only the permissions needed to function, such as internet access and, if you enable alerts, permission to show notifications. It does not request access to your location, contacts, camera, microphone, photos, or files.

Children's privacy

OmniCast is not directed at children under the age of 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your country), and we do not knowingly collect any personal information from children.

Data security

Because we do not collect or store your data on any server, there is no personal data held by us that could be exposed. Data stored locally on your device is protected by your device's own security.

Your rights

Since we do not collect or store your personal data, we hold nothing to access, correct, or delete on your behalf. You remain in full control of the data stored locally on your device and can delete it at any time by clearing the app's data or uninstalling the app.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted here with an updated "Last updated" date.
