Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy applies to the Offlist mobile application ("Offlist" or the "App"), developed by Molaton Corporate Services Ltd ("we," "us," or "our").

Offlist is an offline-first productivity app. Your tasks, notes, reminder settings, tags, and app preferences are primarily stored locally on your device. We do not operate our own cloud sync service for your productivity data, and we do not run our own analytics service for your tasks or notes.

1. Information the App Processes

Offlist processes information you create in the App, including tasks, notes, tags, due dates, reminder settings, and app preferences, so the App can function.

If you enable reminders, Offlist may request notification permission and related device access needed to deliver reminders and restore them after device restart.

If you enable biometric lock or a PIN, Offlist uses device security features to protect access to the App. Biometric authentication is handled by your device operating system. Offlist does not receive or store your biometric templates. If you create a PIN, it is stored securely on your device.

If you export a backup, Offlist creates a backup file containing your app data on your device or in a storage location you choose. If you choose to share or upload that backup file, it will be handled by the destination or service you select.

If ads are enabled in the version of Offlist you use, the App uses Google AdMob. Google AdMob may collect and process certain information such as device and account identifiers, advertising data, IP address, diagnostics, and information about ad interactions in accordance with Google's policies.

If you purchase features such as Remove Ads, Google Play Billing and related Google services process the transaction. This may include product information, purchase tokens, order or transaction records, and other information needed to complete and manage the purchase.

If you contact us directly, such as by email, we will receive the information you choose to provide in your message.

2. Location Data Clarification

The current Android version of Offlist does not request, access, collect, use, transmit, or share precise location, approximate location, or background location from your device. Offlist does not use device location for reminders, advertising, analytics, profiling, or tracking.

Offlist’s local task data model includes location-related fields, including a location reminder flag and latitude/longitude values. If such values already exist in your local app data or in a backup file you import, those values may remain stored locally on your device as part of your task data.

If you choose to export or share a backup file, any location-related values already contained in that backup file may be included in the exported backup and will then be handled by the file location, app, or service you choose.

In the current Android version of Offlist, these location-related fields are not populated by requesting Android location permissions or by reading your device’s location services.
 

3. How We Use Information

We use information processed by Offlist to provide core app functionality, store and display your tasks and notes, deliver reminders, protect access to the App, support backup export and restore, process ad-supported functionality where enabled, and process and restore eligible purchases where offered.

4. Sharing of Information

We do not sell your personal information.

We do not send your tasks, notes, or locally stored productivity data to our own servers.

Information may be shared or processed in the following situations:
- with Google AdMob, if ads are enabled in the App;
- with Google Play Billing or Google Play services, if you make or restore a purchase;
- when you choose to export, share, or upload a backup file; or
- when disclosure is required by law or reasonably necessary to protect rights, safety, or prevent fraud.

5. Data Retention and Deletion

Your tasks, notes, reminder settings, and preferences remain on your device until you delete them, clear app data, restore over them, or uninstall the App.

Backup files remain in the location you choose until you delete them from that location.

If you contact us directly, we may retain your message for support, legal, or operational purposes.

Third-party providers such as Google AdMob and Google Play may retain data according to their own policies.

6. Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational measures appropriate to the nature of the information handled by the App. Because Offlist is primarily local to your device, much of your information remains under your direct control. However, no method of electronic storage or transmission is completely secure.

7. Children's Privacy

Offlist is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 through our own services.

9. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make changes, we will post the updated version at this privacy policy URL and update the effective date above.
