Privacy Policy

App Name: OCD Relief
Effective Date: May 14, 2026
Last Updated: May 14, 2026

1. Introduction

This Privacy Policy explains how the OCD Relief App ("App", "we", "our") handles your information. We are committed to protecting your privacy. Because OCD Relief is designed as a fully offline, on-device application, we do not collect, transmit, or store any of your personal data on external servers.

Please read this policy carefully to understand our practices regarding your information.

2. Information We Do Not Collect

We do not collect, receive, or have access to any of the following:

  • Personal identification information (name, email, phone number, etc.)
  • Health or medical information
  • Location data
  • Device identifiers
  • Usage analytics or behavioural data
  • Crash reports or diagnostic data
  • Photos, videos, or any media you capture within the App
  • Any content you type or log within the App (notes, doubt entries, proof headings, etc.)

The developer has no access to any data you create or store while using OCD Relief.

3. Data Stored on Your Device

The App stores the following data locally on your device only:

  • Proof entries: Headings, categories, optional notes, timestamps, and file paths to photos or videos saved on your device.
  • Doubt logs: Doubt descriptions, situation notes, and timestamps.
  • Categories: Custom category names and icons you create.
  • App preferences: Settings and display preferences.
  • Progress data: Aggregated usage counts and session history used to generate in-app charts.

This data is stored using Android/iOS local storage (shared preferences and local file system). It never leaves your device.

4. Camera and Photo Library Access

The App requests permission to access your device camera and photo library for the Proof Logging feature. This permission is used exclusively to:

  • Take photos using your camera for proof logging.
  • Record short videos (up to 5 seconds) for proof logging.
  • Select existing images from your gallery for proof logging.

No photos or videos are uploaded, transmitted, or shared. They are saved only in your device's local app storage. You may revoke camera permissions at any time through your device settings, though doing so will disable the proof media feature.

5. Notifications

The App uses local notifications only. These are generated entirely on your device and are not routed through any external server or notification service. No data about your notification interactions is collected or transmitted.

You can enable or disable notifications in your device's notification settings at any time.

6. Third-Party Services

OCD Relief does not integrate with any third-party analytics, advertising, social media, or cloud services. There are no third-party SDKs in the App that collect data.

The following open-source Flutter packages are used within the App, all of which operate entirely on-device:

  • image_picker — for camera and gallery access
  • video_player — for in-app video playback
  • shared_preferences — for local data storage
  • flutter_local_notifications — for on-device notifications
  • fl_chart — for rendering progress charts
  • path_provider, uuid, intl — utility libraries

None of these packages transmit data to external services.

7. Children's Privacy

OCD Relief is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect any information from children. If you believe a child under 13 is using the App, please contact us at the email address below. Since no data is collected by the developer, there is no child data for us to delete, but we are happy to assist with any concerns.

8. Data Security

Because all data remains on your device, your data security depends on the security of your device (e.g., your lock screen, device encryption settings). We encourage you to:

  • Use a strong device passcode or biometric lock.
  • Keep your device's operating system up to date.
  • Be mindful of who has access to your device.

We do not transmit your data, so there is no risk of a server-side data breach involving your OCD Relief data.

9. Data Deletion

Since all data is stored locally on your device, you have full control over it. You can delete your data at any time by:

  • Clearing app data through your device's App Settings menu.
  • Uninstalling the App, which will permanently remove all locally stored data associated with OCD Relief.

There is no account to delete and no data held on our servers.

10. Your Rights

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have rights under applicable data protection laws (such as GDPR or CCPA). Because we do not collect or process any personal data on our end, most of these rights are exercised directly on your device. However, if you have questions, you are always welcome to reach out.

11. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, the "Last Updated" date at the top of this document will be revised. We encourage you to review this policy periodically. Continued use of the App after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
