NoWomp Privacy Policy

NoWomp ("the App") is a gym accountability app built to help you stay consistent with your workout schedule. Your privacy matters. This policy explains what data the App accesses, how it is used, and your rights.
1. Data Storage
All your data is stored locally on your device. The App uses an on-device SQLite database and AsyncStorage. No data is transmitted to any external server, cloud service, or third party. We do not collect, store, or process any of your personal data on our servers.
2. Information the App Stores Locally
The following information is stored exclusively on your device:
- User profile: Your name and basic settings to personalize the experience.
- Gym information: Gym name, address, and coordinates you provide for location-based workout verification.
- Workout records: Dates, durations, and completion status of your workouts.
- Schedule data: Your chosen workout days and scheduled workout entries.
- Excuse and skip records: Logged excuses and skipped workout entries for accountability tracking.
- Freeze tokens: Earned and used freeze tokens that protect your streak.
- Redemption workouts: Records of redemption mode entries when workouts are missed.
- Health metrics: If you connect Health Connect, a cached copy of the readings listed in Section 3, along with the Recovery and Sleep scores the App calculates from them. Your age, if you choose to provide it, is stored to estimate your heart rate zones.
3. Device Permissions
The App requests the following permissions, all used solely on-device:
- Location (Fine & Coarse): Used to verify you are at your registered gym when starting a workout. Location data is checked in real-time and is not stored beyond the current session or sent anywhere.
- Notifications: Used to send local reminders about scheduled workouts and accountability alerts. All notifications are generated locally on your device.
- Exact Alarm / Boot Completed: Used to schedule reliable local notifications even after device restart.
- Vibrate: Used for haptic feedback on interactions.
- Foreground Service: While a workout is running, the App shows an ongoing notification with a timer so the session keeps counting when you leave the App. It starts only when you start a workout, stops when the workout ends, reads no sensors, and records nothing beyond the workout entry already described in Section 2.
- Internet: Used only to display an embedded map when you look up your gym's coordinates, and to open the links in this app (such as this policy) in your browser. The App sends none of your data over the internet.
- Health Connect (read): With your explicit permission, the App reads heart rate variability, resting heart rate, heart rate, sleep sessions and sleep stages, steps, distance, total and active calories burned, weight, and exercise sessions from Android Health Connect. This data is read on-device only, cached in the App's local database to calculate your Recovery and Sleep scores, and is never transmitted off your device. You can revoke this access at any time in Health Connect settings, and uninstalling the App removes the cached copy.
- Health Connect (write - optional, off by default): Weight is the only thing the App can write, and only if you turn on "Also save to Health Connect" when logging weight. When enabled, a weight you type into the App is also saved to Health Connect so your other health apps can read it. Health Connect is a local database on your phone, so this still does not send anything off your device, but it does make that weight visible to other apps you have granted Health Connect access. The App writes nothing else, never deletes your Health Connect data, and shares nothing unless you enable this. Turning it off stops future entries; weight already shared remains in Health Connect and can be removed there.
4. Data Collection & Sharing
We do not collect any data. Since all data stays on your device, there is nothing to share with third parties. The App:
- Does not use analytics or tracking services
- Does not contain advertisements
- Does not transmit any of your personal or health data over the internet
- Does not use third-party SDKs that collect user data
5. Data Retention & Deletion
Your data persists on your device as long as the App is installed. You can delete all your data at any time by:
- Using the reset options within the App's settings
- Clearing the App's data from your device settings
- Uninstalling the App, which removes all associated data
6. Children's Privacy
The App is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect any personal information from children.
7. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected on this page with an updated effective date. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
