Welcome to NOTAM Viewer ("we," "our," or "the App"). We are committed to protecting your privacy and ensuring transparency about how we handle your information. This Privacy Policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding your information.

NOTAM Viewer is a free mobile application that provides access to Notice to Airmen (NOTAM) information from the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and other aviation authorities worldwide.

Quick Summary: We do not collect, store, or share any personal information. We only display publicly available aviation data from official sources.

We want to be clear about what we DON'T collect:

2.2 Information Automatically Collected

The following data may be collected automatically:

Advertising Data: Google AdMob may collect device information, ad interaction data, and analytics for serving personalized advertisements. See Section 4 for details.
Crash Reports: If the app crashes, anonymous technical data may be sent to help us fix bugs (device type, OS version, error logs - no personal data).

2.3 Data You Provide

Airport/FIR Searches: When you search for airports or Flight Information Regions, this data is sent directly to the FAA API and is not stored by us.
NOTAM Content Searches: Performed locally on your device only - not sent to any server.

3. How We Use Information

We use information only for the following purposes:

Provide NOTAM Data: To fetch and display NOTAM information from the FAA API
Display Advertisements: To show ads via Google AdMob (see Section 4)
Improve the App: To fix bugs and improve performance based on crash reports
Comply with Laws: To comply with legal obligations if required

4. Third-Party Services

4.1 Google AdMob (Advertising)

We use Google AdMob to display advertisements in the app. AdMob may collect and use data to serve personalized ads. This includes:

Device information (device type, OS version)
Ad interaction data (views, clicks)
Approximate location (based on IP address, not GPS)
Advertising ID

You can control ad personalization:

Android: Settings → Google → Ads → Opt out of Ads Personalization
iOS: Settings → Privacy → Tracking → Turn off "Allow Apps to Request to Track"

4.2 FAA NOTAM API

We fetch NOTAM data from the Federal Aviation Administration's public API (https://notams.aim.faa.gov). The FAA may log API requests including:

Airport/FIR codes you search for
Date and time of requests
Your IP address

4.3 Analytics (Optional - if you add Firebase/Analytics)

Currently NOT implemented in the app.

If we add analytics in the future, we will update this policy and notify users. Any analytics would be anonymous and used only to improve the app.

5. Data Storage and Security

Local Storage: Search history and preferences are stored locally on your device only
No Cloud Storage: We do not upload or store your data on our servers
Data Deletion: Uninstalling the app deletes all locally stored data
Security: All network communications use HTTPS encryption

6. Children's Privacy

NOTAM Viewer is not intended for children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13. If we become aware that we have collected personal information from a child under 13, we will take steps to delete that information.

The app is rated for general audiences but is designed for pilots and aviation professionals.

7. Your Rights and Choices

You have the following rights:

Opt-out of Ads: You can disable personalized ads in your device settings
Delete Data: Uninstall the app to remove all locally stored data
Access Data: Contact us to request information about data we may have
Request Deletion: Contact us to request deletion of any data we may hold

8. International Users

NOTAM Viewer is available worldwide. If you use the app from outside the United States, please note:

Data may be processed in the United States (where FAA servers are located)

9. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by:

Posting the new Privacy Policy in the app

Showing an in-app notification for significant changes

Your continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.

Local App Data: Until you uninstall the app
Crash Reports: 90 days, then automatically deleted
Ad Data: Managed by Google AdMob per their retention policy
