Pralhad Kumar Chaulagain ("we", "us", or "our") built the Nepal Driving Licence Likhit app (the "Service") as a free Android application. This Privacy Policy explains what information the app collects, how it is used, and the choices available to you.

By downloading or using the app, you agree to the terms of this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the app.

1. Information We Collect

1.1 Information You Provide to Us

None. The app does not require you to create an account, register, sign in, or submit any personal information such as your name, email address, phone number, photo, or location.

1.2 Information Stored Locally on Your Device

The app uses Android SharedPreferences (local device storage) to save the following strictly on your device. This data never leaves your device and is not transmitted to us or any third party:

  • Language preference — whether you chose Nepali or English.
  • Quiz progress and past exam scores — your practice attempts, score per set, and time taken, so you can see your progress on the home screen.

This local data is automatically deleted when you uninstall the app. You can also clear it anytime through Android Settings → Apps → Nepal Driving Licence Likhit → Storage → Clear data.

1.3 Information Collected by Third-Party Services

See Section 3 below.

2. How We Use the Information

Because we do not collect personal information on our servers, we do not use any such information. Information stored locally on your device is used only to:

  • Display the app in your preferred language.
  • Show your practice history and scores within the app.

3. Third-Party Services

3.1 Google AdMob (Advertising)

The app displays banner and interstitial advertisements provided by Google AdMob. To serve these ads, AdMob may collect and use limited information from your device, including:

  • Advertising ID — a resettable, non-permanent device identifier controlled by Android.
  • Approximate location — derived from your IP address (country/region level only).
  • Device information — model, operating system version, language.
  • Ad interaction data — whether an ad was viewed, clicked, or closed.

This data is collected and processed directly by Google under Google's own privacy policies. We do not have access to this data.

3.2 Google Fonts

The app loads typefaces ("Mukta" font) from the Google Fonts service. Google may log standard web request information (IP address, request time) when a font is fetched. This is a one-time load and does not identify you personally. More info: https://developers.google.com/fonts/faq/privacy

The app includes links to the following external websites, opened in your device browser. We are not responsible for their privacy practices:

4. Opting Out of Personalized Ads

You can limit or reset the Advertising ID used by AdMob at any time:

  • Android 12 and above: Settings → Privacy → Ads → Delete advertising ID
  • Android 11 and below: Settings → Google → Ads → Opt out of Ads Personalization / Reset advertising ID

Disabling the advertising ID will not remove ads, but they will become less personalized.

5. Permissions the App Requests

  • Internet access (INTERNET) — required to load advertisements and fonts.
  • Network state (ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE) — required by AdMob to check whether a network connection is available before requesting an ad.

The app does not request access to your camera, microphone, contacts, photos, precise location, files, or any other sensitive permissions.

6. Data Security

Because no personal data is collected or transmitted by us, there is no server-side data to protect. Information collected by Google AdMob is transmitted using industry-standard encryption (HTTPS) and handled under Google's security practices.

7. Children's Privacy

This app is intended for users aged 16 and above — the minimum age to apply for a two-wheeler driving licence in Nepal. The app is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has used the app in a way that provided personal information, please contact us and we will take appropriate action.

8. Users in the European Economic Area (EEA), UK, and Switzerland

If you are located in the EEA, UK, or Switzerland, Google AdMob may present a consent dialog asking you to approve personalized ads, in compliance with GDPR. You may choose between personalized and non-personalized ads. You can change or withdraw your consent at any time by clearing the app's data from Android Settings.

We rely on Google as our advertising partner's consent management. We do not separately store or process EEA personal data.

9. Data Deletion

Because we do not store any of your data on our servers, there is no server-side data to request deletion for.

  • Local app data — uninstall the app, or use Android Settings → Apps → Nepal Driving Licence Likhit → Clear data.
  • Advertising data held by Google — follow the instructions in Section 4 above, or visit https://myactivity.google.com

10. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in the app or applicable laws. Updates will be posted on this page, and the "Last Updated" date at the top will be revised. Continued use of the app after such changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.

11. Your Consent

By downloading, installing, or using the Nepal Driving Licence Likhit app, you consent to this Privacy Policy and agree to its terms.
