Nemon is developed and published by Ashir Sial (“we”, “our”, or “us”).

This Privacy Policy explains how Nemon handles information when you use the app. Nemon is a network health, uptime, Wi-Fi diagnostics, LAN scanning, and local network discovery utility designed to help users understand whether their internet connection and local network are healthy, unstable, slow, or disconnected.

By using Nemon, you agree to the practices described in this Privacy Policy.

Information Nemon Processes

Nemon is designed to work with minimal data collection.

The app may process the following information on your device for app functionality:

• Internet connection status
• Wi-Fi or mobile network availability
• Network health score
• Ping, latency, packet loss, uptime, and stability results
• Wi-Fi or local network details required for diagnostics
• LAN scanning or nearby device discovery results, where this feature is used
• Basic device/network diagnostic information needed to perform network checks

This information is used to display network health, diagnose connection quality, identify the current Wi-Fi/local network, and support LAN discovery features inside the app.

Location Permission Disclosure

Nemon may request location permission on older Android versions because Android requires location permission to access certain Wi-Fi and local network discovery information.

Specifically, Nemon may use:

ACCESS_FINE_LOCATION on Android 12 and below only.

This permission is used only to:

• Detect Wi-Fi/local network details needed for LAN scanning or device discovery
• Support nearby Wi-Fi/local network discovery behavior on Android 12 and below
• Help identify the current Wi-Fi network when Android restricts SSID or network details behind location permission

On Android 13 and above, Nemon uses the NEARBY_WIFI_DEVICES permission for Wi-Fi/local network discovery where applicable.

Nemon does not collect:

• Name
• Email address
• Phone number
• Contacts
• SMS messages
• Photos or videos
• Microphone recordings
• Camera data
• GPS location history
• Payment information
• Account login information
• Personal identity information

How Nemon Uses Information

Nemon uses network diagnostic information only for app functionality, including:

• Calculating and displaying the Network Health Score
• Checking internet availability
• Measuring latency and packet loss
• Showing network stability and uptime status
• Detecting Wi-Fi/local network status
• Supporting LAN scanning and nearby device discovery features
• Helping users understand whether their connection is healthy, slow, unstable, or disconnected
• Improving reliability and performance of app features

Nemon does not use network or Wi-Fi diagnostic information to personally identify users.

Data Storage

Nemon may store app settings or recent diagnostic results locally on your device to improve user experience.

Locally stored information may include:

• User preferences
• Network test results
• Network diagnostic history, if this feature is available
• Basic app configuration settings

This data remains on your device unless a future version clearly introduces cloud backup, account sync, analytics, or online storage features.

Data Sharing

Nemon does not sell, rent, or trade user data.

Nemon does not share personal data with third parties.

Internet and Network Access

Nemon requires internet and network access to perform network health checks and local network diagnostics.

The app may send small network requests, such as connectivity checks, ping checks, or diagnostic requests, to test whether the internet connection is working and stable.

These checks are used only for diagnostic purposes and are not used to track users.

Permissions Used by Nemon

Nemon may use the following permissions depending on Android version and enabled features:

• Internet access — used to check connectivity and perform network health tests
• Network state access — used to detect connection status
• Wi-Fi state access — used to read Wi-Fi connection information where available
• Nearby Wi-Fi devices — used on Android 13 and above for Wi-Fi/local network discovery without deriving physical location
• Fine location — used only on Android 12 and below because Android requires it for some Wi-Fi/local network discovery information

Nemon requests only permissions needed for network diagnostics, Wi-Fi information, LAN scanning, and local network discovery features.

Children’s Privacy

Nemon is not directed specifically at children.

We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe that a child has provided personal information through the app, contact us and we will take appropriate action.

Security

We take reasonable steps to protect information handled by the app.

Because Nemon is designed to process network diagnostic information locally and avoid unnecessary personal data collection, privacy risk is reduced. However, no app or internet-based system can be guaranteed to be completely secure.

User Control

Users can control their data by:

• Clearing app data from Android system settings
• Uninstalling the app
• Disabling permissions from Android settings, where applicable
• Deleting local diagnostic history from inside the app, if this feature is available

If permissions are denied, some Wi-Fi, LAN scanning, or local network discovery features may not work properly.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time.
