1. Introduction

This Privacy Policy describes how MyWorkoutPal ("we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, and shares information when you use the MyWorkoutPal mobile application (the "App"). By using the App, you agree to the practices described here.

If you do not agree with this policy, please do not use the App.

2. Information We Collect

a. Information you provide directly

  • Biometric and fitness inputs: age, sex, height, weight, activity level, fitness goals, dietary preferences, workout preferences, injuries/limitations.
  • Workout logs: exercises performed, sets, reps, weights, durations, and notes you choose to add.
  • Optional profile information: name, display preferences.

b. Information collected automatically

  • Device information: device model, operating system version, app version, language, time zone.
  • Usage data: features used, screens viewed, crashes, and performance metrics.
  • Subscription and purchase data: purchase history and entitlement status, provided to us by Apple and RevenueCat.

c. Information we do NOT collect

  • We do not collect precise location data.
  • We do not access your camera, microphone, contacts, or photo library unless you explicitly grant permission for a specific feature.
  • We do not read or write data to Apple HealthKit unless you explicitly enable that integration.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Generate personalized workout and nutrition plans.
  • Save your progress and preferences between sessions.
  • Provide AI-generated recommendations based on the profile information you enter.
  • Process subscription purchases, renewals, and restorations.
  • Improve the App, diagnose crashes, and develop new features.
  • Communicate with you about account, subscription, or support issues.
  • Comply with legal obligations.

4. Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services, each with their own privacy policies:

  • Apple (App Store, StoreKit, In-App Purchase): Processes your payments and subscriptions. We never receive or store your full payment card information. See Apple's Privacy Policy at https://www.apple.com/legal/privacy/.
  • RevenueCat: Manages subscription entitlements and purchase verification. Receives anonymized user identifiers and purchase events. See https://www.revenuecat.com/privacy/.
  • Supabase: Hosts account and workout data in secure databases. See https://supabase.com/privacy.
  • OpenAI: Powers AI-generated plan recommendations. Relevant profile inputs (e.g. goals, preferences, biometrics) may be sent to generate plans. We do not send personally identifying information such as your email address. See https://openai.com/policies/privacy-policy.

We do not sell your personal information to third parties.

5. Data Retention

  • Account and workout data is retained for as long as your account is active.
  • If you delete your account, we delete your associated data within 30 days, except where retention is required for legal, accounting, or fraud-prevention purposes.
  • Anonymized, aggregated analytics may be retained indefinitely.

6. Your Rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the following rights:

  • Access: Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
  • Correction: Update or correct inaccurate data.
  • Deletion: Request deletion of your personal data.
  • Portability: Request your data in a machine-readable format.
  • Objection / Restriction: Object to or restrict certain processing.
  • Withdraw consent: Withdraw previously given consent at any time.

California residents (CCPA/CPRA): You have the right to know, delete, correct, and opt out of the sale or sharing of your personal information. We do not sell or share personal information as defined by CCPA.

EU/UK residents (GDPR): Our legal bases for processing are performance of contract (delivering the App), legitimate interests (improving the App, preventing fraud), consent (optional features), and legal obligations.

7. Children's Privacy

MyWorkoutPal is not intended for children under 13 (or under 16 in the EU). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us data, contact us and we will delete it.

8. Data Security

We use industry-standard safeguards (TLS in transit, encryption at rest, access controls) to protect your data. No system is 100% secure; we cannot guarantee absolute security.

9. International Transfers

Your information may be processed in countries other than your own, including the United States. Where required, we use Standard Contractual Clauses or equivalent safeguards.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes via the App or email. Continued use after changes means you accept the updated policy.
