MemScope uses Android Accessibility Service only to detect the name of the foreground application. The service does not read screen content, collect personal data, or transmit any information off the device.
4. Overlay Permission (SYSTEM_ALERT_WINDOW)
MemScope requests overlay permission to display a floating RAM usage view over other apps.
The overlay displays only system RAM usage information
It does not capture screen content
It does not interact with other apps
It does not record user actions
The overlay can be started or stopped at any time by the user.
5. Foreground Service Permission
MemScope uses a foreground service to ensure reliable and continuous RAM monitoring while the overlay is active.
This service:
Runs only when the user starts the overlay
Stops when the user disables the overlay
Does not perform background data collection
6. CSV Export Feature
MemScope allows users to export RAM usage logs as a CSV file.
CSV files are stored locally on the device
Files are generated only when the user enables logging
Exported files are shared only when the user explicitly chooses to share them
MemScope does not automatically upload or transmit these files.
7. Data Sharing
MemScope does not share data with third parties, including:
Advertisers
Analytics providers
Data brokers
Government agencies
Other applications
8. Internet Usage
MemScope does not require internet access for its core functionality and does not send data over the network.
9. Children’s Privacy
MemScope does not collect any personal data and is safe to use for users of all ages. No child-specific data is collected or processed.
