This Privacy Policy explains how Memories: Things We Keep (“Memories”, “we”, “us”, or “our”) collects, uses, stores, and shares information when you use the Memories application.
1. Information we collect
Depending on the features you use, Memories may process the following information.
Account information
When you sign in with Apple, we may receive:
- An Apple account identifier.
- Your name, if provided by Apple.
- Your email address, including Apple’s private relay email address if you choose to hide your email.
Photos and object information
When you capture an object, we may process:
- The captured photo.
- A segmented or processed version of the photo.
- Depth information.
- Generated 3D models.
- Textures, thumbnails, and material information.
- Titles, descriptions, tags, and categories.
This information is used to create, display, save, and synchronize your memories.
Stories and voice recordings
If you choose to add emotional details, we may process:
- Personal stories.
- Voice recordings.
- Voice recording duration and playback information.
- Names and relationships of people connected to a memory.
These features are optional.
Location information
If you grant permission, Memories may process your approximate location to determine the city associated with a memory.
Location access is optional. We do not need your precise location to provide the core object-capture feature.
Nearby sharing information
When you use nearby sharing, Memories may process:
- Nearby device names or identifiers.
- Connection information.
- The memory box and files you choose to transfer.
- Transfer status and progress information.
Nearby sharing is initiated by you.
Subscription information
Purchases and subscriptions are processed through Apple’s App Store and may be managed through RevenueCat.
We may receive subscription status, entitlement status, product information, and transaction-related information necessary to provide Premium features. We do not receive your full payment-card information.
3. How we use information
We use information to:
- Provide the Memories features you request.
- Generate 3D models and related content.
- Organize and display your memory library.
- Save and synchronize memories through iCloud and CloudKit.
- Store and play voice memories.
- Process nearby sharing requests.
- Manage Premium subscriptions.
- Respond to support requests.
- Detect errors, prevent abuse, and maintain security.
- Comply with legal obligations.
We do not currently include in-app advertising or an advertising SDK.
4. Third-party service providers
Depending on the features used and the configuration of the App, information may be processed by:
- Apple, including Sign in with Apple, iCloud, CloudKit, App Store, and related services.
- RevenueCat, for subscription management.
- 3D-generation providers, which may receive an object image to generate a 3D model.
- AI providers, which may receive a processed object image or memory metadata to identify objects, suggest descriptions, or generate categories and filters.
- Music or content-search services, when you search for decorative music or related content.
5. iCloud storage
Memories may store memory information, media files, generated models, voice recordings, and related metadata in Apple iCloud or CloudKit.
Your use of iCloud is also subject to Apple’s terms and privacy policy. If you disable iCloud or exceed your available iCloud storage, some synchronization or saving features may not work correctly.
6. How we share information
We may share information:
- With service providers that help us operate Memories.
- With Apple and its services when required for authentication, storage, purchases, or synchronization.
- With another user when you intentionally share a memory box.
- When required by law, legal process, or protection of rights and safety.
- During a business transfer, such as a merger or acquisition, subject to applicable law.
We do not sell your personal information.
7. Data retention
We retain information for as long as necessary to provide Memories, maintain your library, complete requested services, resolve disputes, enforce agreements, and comply with legal obligations.

8. Your rights
Depending on your location, you may have rights to:
- Request access to your personal information.

- Withdraw consent where processing is based on consent.

9. Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect information. However, no electronic transmission or storage system can be guaranteed to be completely secure.

Information may be processed and stored in countries other than the country where you live. When required by law, we use appropriate safeguards for international data transfers.
12. Third-party links and services
Memories may use or connect to third-party services. Their privacy practices are governed by their own policies, not this Privacy Policy.
