This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use the LearnVerse mobile application and platform.
LearnVerse is an educational management and AI-driven learning platform. We operate as a service provider to educational institutions ("Institutions").
1. Information We Collect
To provide a comprehensive school management experience, we collect the following categories of information:
Account Information: Names, email addresses, phone numbers, and passwords for students, parents, teachers, and admins.
Student Records: Academic performance, attendance records, timetables, grades, and enrollment history.
Financial Data: Fee payment history, billing details, and transaction records (processed via secure third-party integrations).
AI-Generated Data: Queries and interactions with our AI Student Assistant and AI Teacher Assistant to provide personalized learning paths and lesson planning.
Device & Usage Data: IP addresses, device identifiers, browser types, and app usage statistics collected automatically for security and performance monitoring.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use the collected data strictly for educational and administrative purposes:
To manage school operations (attendance, scheduling, and payroll).
To provide personalized, adaptive learning paths for students.
To facilitate communication between teachers, parents, and students.
To process fee payments and provide financial transparency.
To improve our AI models and platform functionality.
Note: We do not sell your personal data to third parties. We do not use student data for targeted advertising.
3. Data Sharing and Disclosure
We only share information in the following circumstances:
With Your Institution: Student data is accessible to authorized school administrators and teachers as part of standard school operations.
Service Providers: We may share data with trusted vendors (e.g., cloud hosting like Cloudflare R2, database services like Supabase, or Zoho Books for accounting) who are contractually bound to protect your data.
Legal Requirements: If required by law, we may disclose information to comply with legal obligations or protect the safety of our users.
4. Children’s Privacy (COPPA Compliance)
LearnVerse is designed for use by K-12 institutions. When students under the age of 13 use the app:
School Consent: We rely on the Institution to provide consent for the collection of personal information from students under 13, acting on behalf of the parents.
Limited Collection: We only collect the minimum information necessary to provide the educational service.
Parental Rights: Parents may contact their school administrator to review, delete, or stop the further collection of their child's data.
5. Education Law Compliance (FERPA)
LearnVerse acknowledges that student "Education Records" are protected by laws such as FERPA. We act as a "School Official" with a legitimate educational interest. The Institution retains ownership and control of all student data.
6. Data Security and Retention
We implement industry-standard security measures, including:
Encryption: Data is encrypted in transit using TLS/SSL and at rest.
Retention: We retain data only for as long as the Institution maintains an active subscription or as required for legal compliance. Institutions can request data deletion at any time.
7. Account Deletion
Users (or parents of students) can request the deletion of their account and associated data.
In-App: Use the "Delete Account" option in the Settings menu.
