Vy Truong Le ("we", "us", or "our") respects your privacy and is committed to protecting it. This Privacy Policy explains how information is handled when you use our mobile application Inkling: Doodle with partner (the "App").
By using Inkling: Doodle with partner, you agree to the terms outlined in this Privacy Policy.
1. Privacy First — Data Not Collected
Inkling is designed as a calm, private, two-person sketchbook space for couples. We believe your personal moments and drawings belong solely to you and your partner.
- No Accounts or Logins: You do not need to register an account, log in with social media, or provide your email, phone number, or password to use the App.
- No Trackers or Ads: We do not include third-party advertising SDKs, behavioral tracking, data brokers, or analytics engines.
- No Selling of Data: We do not collect, monetize, sell, or trade your personal data or content to any third party.
2. How Pair Connections and Features Work
To deliver our core features, the App handles data in the following minimal ways:
a. 6-Letter Pair Code
Partners connect their devices using a generated 6-letter invite code (e.g., PARTNR). This code is used solely to link the two paired devices into a private shared space ("Our Space"). No personal identity or profile information is attached to this code.
b. Shared Sketchbook & Live Co-Draw
Hand-drawn doodles, live canvas strokes, daily prompt responses, and mood selections created by you and your partner are transmitted securely between your paired devices so you can draw together in real time and maintain your shared sketchbook history.
c. Home & Lock Screen Widgets
If enabled, the App updates your iOS Home Screen and Lock Screen widgets locally on your device to display the latest hand-drawn note sent by your partner.
d. Anniversaries & Local Data
Your anniversary dates, streak counters, and mood history are stored locally on your device and synced only with your paired partner's device.
3. Permissions Requested
The App may request access to the following optional iOS features:
- Notifications (Optional): Used locally to notify you when your partner sends a new doodle, updates their mood, or joins a live drawing session.
- Home & Lock Screen Widgets (Optional): Used to display shared doodles directly on your iOS widget spaces.
You can manage or revoke permissions at any time via your device settings (Settings > Inkling).
4. Children’s Privacy (COPPA Compliance)
Inkling is built for general adult and couple audiences. We comply with the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) and do not knowingly collect personal information from children under the age of 13. Because the App requires no registration or personal profiles, no child personal data is solicited or stored.
5. Data Security
We employ standard encryption protocols (such as HTTPS/SSL) to protect data transmitted between paired devices during live drawing and doodle syncs. While no transmission method is 100% secure, Inkling’s architecture minimizes risk by eliminating central user databases, profile storage, and password vaults.
6. External Links & App Stores
The App Store (Apple Inc.) may collect non-identifiable purchase or download telemetry governed by Apple’s own Privacy Policy. We do not control or have access to Apple’s independent telemetry data.
7. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect app updates or legal requirements. Any revisions will be posted on this page with an updated "Effective Date."
