This Privacy Policy applies to the HydroNudge: Water Tracker mobile application (the “App”), operated by Kido Studio (“we,” “us,” or “our”). This Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and protect information when you use the App.

1. Information We Collect

A. Account and Profile Information
When you sign up for or use the App, we may collect:
- First name and last name

- Account identifiers, such as a Firebase user ID
- Profile image URL, if provided by your sign-in provider
- Language and account preferences

B. Health and Hydration Information
To provide the App’s core hydration features, we may collect and store:
- Water intake logs
- Daily hydration goals
- Current water intake
- Hydration history
- Hydration summaries, reports, and export-related data
- Related preferences, such as time zone and day-start settings

C. Device and Technical Information
We may collect technical information needed to operate, secure, and improve the App, including:
- Push notification tokens
- Installation-related identifiers
- Device model
- Operating system and app version
- Language and time zone
- Crash reports and diagnostic information

D. Purchase and Subscription Information
If you purchase, restore, or use a subscription, we may process:
- Subscription status
- Entitlement status
- Purchase history and transaction-related metadata provided by the app store and our subscription service provider

E. User-Submitted Content
If you use certain features, we may collect content you choose to submit, including:
- Messages sent through AI chat features
- Content report submissions and free-text descriptions
- Feedback or support messages you send to us

F. Social and App Functionality Data
If you use social features, we may process information necessary to operate those features, such as friend connections, nudges, badges, and related in-app interactions.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use your information to:
- Create and manage your account
- Authenticate users and keep accounts secure
- Sync hydration data across devices
- Provide hydration tracking, reminders, exports, and personalized app features
- Send service-related notifications, including reminder notifications and export-ready notifications
- Process subscriptions and restore purchases
- Generate AI-based hydration guidance and analysis
- Review reports, feedback, and abuse-prevention signals
- Diagnose crashes, fix bugs, improve reliability, and protect the security of the App
- Comply with legal obligations and enforce our terms

3. AI Features

If you use AI features, the text you submit and relevant hydration context (such as water intake history and goals) are sent to Groq, Inc. via their API to generate responses. Groq processes this data according to their privacy policy at groq.com/privacy. We do not store your AI conversations on our servers beyond what is necessary to provide the service.

We do not use AI features to make decisions that produce legal or similarly significant effects about you.

4. Push Notifications

If you enable notifications, we may use your push notification token to send service-related notifications, such as hydration reminders, feature updates, and export-ready messages.

You can disable notifications at any time in your device settings.

5. Third-Party Service Providers

We may use trusted third-party service providers to help operate the App. These providers may process information on our behalf, including:

- Firebase Authentication, for sign-in and account services
- Firebase Cloud Messaging, for push notifications
- Firebase Crashlytics, for crash reporting and diagnostics
- RevenueCat, for subscription and entitlement management
- Groq or similar AI infrastructure providers, for AI-powered hydration features

These third-party providers process data in accordance with their own terms and privacy practices.

6. How We Share Information

We do not sell your personal information and we do not use your data for cross-app or cross-website tracking for advertising purposes.

We may share information only in the following circumstances:
- With service providers that help us operate the App
- If required by law, regulation, legal process, or governmental request
- To protect the rights, safety, security, and integrity of the App, our users, or others
- In connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of all or part of our business

7. Data Retention

We retain personal information for as long as necessary to provide the App, maintain your account, fulfill the purposes described in this Policy, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce agreements.

If you delete your account, we will delete or de-identify your personal information within a reasonable period, subject to legal, security, fraud-prevention, backup, and service-provider retention requirements.

8. Your Choices and Rights

Depending on your location and applicable law, you may have the right to:
- Access personal information we hold about you
- Request correction of inaccurate information
- Request deletion of your personal information
- Request a copy of certain data
- Object to or restrict certain processing

You may also request account deletion from within the App, where available, or by contacting us at the email address below.

9. Children’s Privacy

The App is not directed to children under the age of 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. 

10. Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect your information against unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, or destruction. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure.

11. International Data Transfers

Your information may be processed and stored in countries other than your country of residence, including the United States, where some of our service providers operate. By using the App, you understand that your information may be transferred to and processed in these jurisdictions, subject to applicable legal safeguards.

12. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the Effective Date above and, where appropriate, provide additional notice within the App or by other reasonable means.
