Thank you for using Hire Lanka Taxi App. Your privacy is important to us. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use our app.
1. Information We Collect
We collect the following types of information:
Phone Number & Verification: When you register, we collect your phone number and send a One-Time Password (OTP) to verify it. This helps us ensure you are a real user and prevent fake accounts.
Password: When you create a password, we securely hash it using a hash algorithm before storing it in our database. We never store plain-text passwords.
User Profile Information: Depending on whether you are a customer or driver, we may collect your name, date of birth, ID card number, email address, and vehicle information (vehicle type, model, location, vehicle image).
Hire Post Information: Any hire request you create (including pickup location, drop-off location, and trip details) is stored in our secure PocketBase database.
Payment Information: Drivers are required to pay a registration fee as determined by the company (monthly or annual). Drivers must upload a valid payment slip, which is reviewed by our admin panel before approving access to accept hires.
2. How We Use Your Information
- We use your information for the following purposes:
- To verify your identity and create a secure account
- To allow customers to create and post hire requests
- To notify drivers of hire requests in their district
- To process driver registration payments and hire-related fees
- To allow admin users to view and manage user data securely via the admin panel
- To enable drivers to accept and complete hire requests
- To comply with legal obligations
3. Data Storage & Security
Your personal data, including phone number and hire posts, are stored securely in our PocketBase database.
Passwords are never stored in plain text. We use a hashing algorithm to store only the hashed version of your password.
Every time you log in, we compare the hashed password you enter with the stored hash to authenticate you securely.
Only authorized admin users can access the admin panel and view user data. Unauthorized persons cannot access, modify, or retrieve data from our database.
4. Driver Payment Policy
The registration payment required for drivers (monthly or annual) is a legitimate fee set by the company to access the platform and accept hire requests. This payment is not a scam and is clearly displayed within the app before payment.
Drivers must upload proof of payment (payment slip), which will be reviewed by the admin. Once approved, drivers can access hire opportunities.
After completing a hire for a normal or business customer, drivers are required to pay a 10% commission fee to the company. Drivers accepting hires from cab service customers must also pay 10% of the fare to the cab service.
5. Data Access & Updates
Users can view and update their profile details through the app. Admin users have access to manage and review data via the admin panel. No third parties have access to your personal data without your consent, except as required by law.
6. Data Sharing
We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties for marketing purposes. Your information is only used internally to operate and improve the Hire Lanka Taxi App services.
7. Your Rights
You have the right to:
Access the information we hold about you
Request corrections to inaccurate information
Request deletion of your account (subject to legal and operational requirements)
8. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you within the app or by other means before the changes take effect.
