Fontys FitPhone (“the App”) is owned and operated by Fontys Hogeschool (“we,” “our,” or “us”). This Privacy Policy explains how we handle your personal information when you use our app. We are committed to protecting your privacy and ensuring your data is handled responsibly.

1. Data Collection and Usage

Fontys FitPhone collects minimal personal data, all of which is stored locally on your device. The App does not send or store any data on external servers or cloud services.

Types of Data Collected

- Screen Time and Pickups: You may manually enter your weekly phone usage (e.g., screen time, pickups) to track progress. This input is completely optional.
- Journal Entries: You may voluntarily enter responses to guided prompts in the journal section. This is also optional.
- Onboarding Data: During onboarding, you can enter your city, favorite activities, and the issue you wish to address. Onboarding is optional and skippable; however, it will reappear each time you open the app until completed.

Purpose of Data Collection

We collect data for the following purposes:

- To suggest offline activities and events tailored to your location and preferences.
- To provide reminders and motivational content through notifications.
- To help you track your progress and reflect on your phone usage habits.

2. Notifications

Fontys FitPhone sends two types of notifications:

1. Daily Motivational Messages: To inspire you to stay on track.
2. Weekly Check-In Reminders: To encourage you to log your weekly screen time and pickups.

At this time, notifications cannot be disabled within the app.

3. Data Storage and Retention

All data you provide is stored locally on your device. We do not process, transfer, or store any of your data on external servers.

- Your data remains on your device until you delete the app.
- Deleting the app will permanently erase all stored data.

We do not retain any copies or backups of your data.

4. Security Measures

Since all data is stored locally on your device, we recommend that you take measures to secure your device, such as enabling a screen lock or using other privacy features provided by your device's operating system.

5. User Rights

Fontys FitPhone does not process or store any of your data outside your device. Therefore:

- We do not offer data retrieval or export functionality.
- If you wish to delete your data, simply uninstall the app from your device.

6. Use by Children

Fontys FitPhone does not have an age restriction. However, we recommend parental supervision for minors using the App.

7. Changes to this Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be communicated via in-app notifications. We encourage you to review the policy periodically to stay informed about how we protect your data.
