Privacy Policy for Fontiq

This policy explains what Fontiq ("the app", "we") does with information when you use it. It covers the Android app published on Google Play under the package name com.pavko.fontiq, including its keyboard, its text-styling screens and its sharing features.

Fontiq is developed by PAVKO ("we", "us").

2. Information stored on your device

Fontiq keeps your working data locally, in the app's private storage. This never leaves your device unless you deliberately share or copy something.

• text you last typed, so the app opens where you left off
• your favourite styles, fonts and saved looks
• your copy history (the styled text you copied inside the app)
• recently used symbols and fonts
• settings: theme, interface language, haptics, keyboard layout, start screen
• counters used to decide when to offer an app update or a review prompt

You can erase all of it at any time: Android Settings → Apps → Fontiq → Storage → Clear data. Uninstalling the app removes it as well.

3. Information processed by third parties

Fontiq itself collects nothing. The services below are provided by Google and process data under their own privacy policies.

Some of these services are enabled as the corresponding features ship. A version of the app that does not show ads does not load the advertising SDK at all. The Data Safety section on the app's Google Play listing always describes the version you are installing.

3.1 Google AdMob (advertising)

The free version of the app shows ads served by Google AdMob. AdMob may process your advertising identifier, device and app information, coarse location derived from IP address, and interaction data with the ads, in order to serve and measure advertising.

Where required by law (the EU, the EEA, the UK and Switzerland), we present a consent form before any personalised advertising is served, using Google's User Messaging Platform. You may choose non-personalised ads, and you can change your choice later from the app's settings.

3.2 Google Play Billing (purchases)

Purchases of Fontiq Pro are processed by Google Play. We never receive or store your card number, billing address or any payment credential. We receive only the fact that a purchase was made, so the app can unlock the paid features.

3.3 Firebase

We use the following Firebase services from Google:

• Firebase Analytics — aggregated, event-level usage statistics (for example: how many people reach the first copy). Used to understand which features are worth improving.
• Firebase Crashlytics — crash reports, including the device model, OS version, and a stack trace of the crash. Used to fix crashes.
• Firebase Remote Config — lets us change prices, the frequency of ads and the layout of the paywall without shipping an update. It reads configuration; it does not send your content anywhere.
• Firebase Cloud Messaging — push notifications, if you allow them.

These services may process a device identifier, device and OS information, and app usage events. They do not receive the text you type.

3.4 Google Play Services — Downloadable Fonts

Fontiq ships 14 typefaces inside the app and can download the rest of its catalogue on demand. Downloading uses the system font provider built into Google Play Services: the request contains the name of the font family you are about to use. We do not host fonts ourselves and do not see these requests.

3.5 Google Play — updates and review prompt

The app uses Google Play's in-app update and in-app review APIs. These are handled entirely by the Play Store app; we only ask it to show its own dialogs.

4. The Fontiq keyboard

Fontiq includes an optional keyboard (an input method). Android requires the system to warn you that a keyboard can collect what you type. Here is what this keyboard actually does:

• It does not log, store or transmit what you type. Nothing you type through the Fontiq keyboard is written to disk, sent over the network, or shared with any third party — including us.
• The current word is held in memory only long enough to restyle it, and is discarded as soon as the word ends.
• The keyboard has no internet permission of its own and makes no network requests.
• The list of recently used fonts and your chosen layout are stored locally so the keyboard opens the way you left it.
• When you send a word as a picture, the image is written to the app's private cache and handed to the app you are typing in. It is not uploaded anywhere.

Ads, analytics and crash reporting do not run inside the keyboard process.

5. Styling text from other apps

Fontiq can appear in the text-selection menu of other apps ("Fancy" / "Fontiq"). When you use it, the selected text is passed to Fontiq by Android, styled on your device, and returned to the app you were in, or copied to your clipboard. The selected text is not stored and not transmitted.

6. Images you export

Stickers you export are rendered on your device and written to the app's private cache so that they can be shared. When you tap Share, Android hands the image to the app you choose — for example a messenger or a social app. What happens to the image after that is governed by that app's own privacy policy.

7. Permissions

Fontiq requests very little:

• ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE — to tell whether fonts can be downloaded, and to show "no connection" instead of failing silently.
• INTERNET (added by the advertising and Firebase libraries) — to load ads, deliver analytics and crash reports, and download fonts.
• BIND_INPUT_METHOD — required by Android for any keyboard. Granted only if you enable the Fontiq keyboard yourself.
• Notifications — requested only if you allow push notifications.

Fontiq does not request access to contacts, photos, precise location, microphone or camera.

8. Legal basis (EEA, UK, Switzerland)

• Legitimate interest — keeping the app working, fixing crashes, and security.
• Consent — personalised advertising, analytics where consent is required, and push notifications. You can withdraw consent at any time from the app's settings or your device settings.
• Contract — processing a purchase you have made.

9. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or export your personal data, to object to processing, and to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority.

Because Fontiq has no accounts and no servers, most of your data is under your direct control: clearing the app's data erases everything it stores. For data held by Google's services, write to us at pavkoapp@gmail.com and we will pass the request on, or contact Google directly using their privacy tools.

California residents: we do not sell or share personal information as those terms are defined by the CCPA/CPRA. You may exercise your rights by contacting us at the address above.

10. Children

Fontiq is not directed to children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your country). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

11. Data retention

Data stored on your device stays until you clear it or uninstall the app. Data held by Google's services is retained according to Google's own retention policies; crash reports and analytics events are typically kept for a limited period and in aggregated form.

12. International transfers

Google's services may process data on servers outside your country, including the United States. Google relies on standard contractual clauses and other approved mechanisms for these transfers.

13. Security

Data stored by the app lives in Android's private per-app storage, which other apps cannot read. Network traffic to Google's services is encrypted in transit. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

14. Changes to this policy

If this policy changes materially, we will update the "Last updated" date and, where the change is significant, show a notice in the app. Continuing to use Fontiq after a change means you accept the updated policy.
