FitLedger Privacy Policy

Your privacy matters. Protect yourself with a secure VPN.
Sponsored

This privacy policy applies to the FitLedger app for mobile devices (formerly called Trakkapp), together with any related services operated by Louis Martirossian (collectively, the "Application"). Louis Martirossian is hereby referred to as the "Service Provider".

Information Collection and Use

The Application collects information when you download and use it. This information may include:

- Your device's Internet Protocol (IP) address, which is visible to the services the Application connects to
- Your device model and mobile operating system version
- The information you choose to enter, such as meals, workouts, cardio sessions, body measurements, goals and app settings

The Application does not use advertising trackers and does not track you across other companies' apps or websites.

Accounts and Cloud Backup

To use the Application, you must create an account using Sign in with Apple or your email address. When you sign in with Apple, the Service Provider receives a unique identifier and, if you choose to share it, your name and email. If you choose Apple's "Hide My Email", the Service Provider only receives Apple's relay address. When you sign in with email, the Service Provider collects the email address you provide.

If you choose to back up your data, your training and nutrition information (meals, workouts, cardio sessions, and app settings) is stored on the Service Provider's servers, provided by Supabase, linked to your account, so it can be restored on another device signed in with the same account. This data is not anonymized — it is tied to your account for as long as your account exists.

You can permanently delete your account and all associated backup data at any time from Settings within the Application. This immediately and permanently removes your account and stored data from the Service Provider's servers. Data that remains only on your device is not affected by this deletion and can be removed by deleting the Application.

Subscriptions and Payments

FitLedger Premium is offered as an auto-renewing subscription sold through Apple's App Store. Apple processes all payments; the Service Provider never sees or stores your card or payment details.

The Service Provider uses RevenueCat to manage subscriptions. To confirm whether you have an active subscription, RevenueCat receives your purchase history from Apple (which subscription you bought, when, and whether it is active, in a free trial or cancelled) together with a random account identifier that links the purchase to your account. Your name, email address, health data and workout data are not sent to RevenueCat.

You can manage or cancel your subscription at any time in your Apple Account settings, or from Settings → Manage Subscription within the Application.

Apple Health

With your permission, the Application reads step count, workouts and weight from Apple Health, and can write logged workouts and weight back to Apple Health. Health data is used only to show your activity and progress within the Application. It is never used for advertising or marketing, never sold, and never shared with third parties. You can change or withdraw these permissions at any time in the Health app on your iPhone.

Food Search

When you search for a food or scan a barcode, the search words or barcode number are sent to Open Food Facts (openfoodfacts.org), an open food database, to find matching products. No account information is sent with these searches.

Notifications

The Application may show reminders within the app, for example before a free trial ends. If you allow notifications, the Application may also send reminders such as a weekly check-in. You can turn notifications off at any time in your iPhone's Settings.

Crash Reports

If the Application crashes or hits an error, a technical report is sent to Sentry, a crash-reporting service, so the Service Provider can find and fix the problem. A report contains the error itself, the app version, your device model and iOS version, and the time. It does not contain your name, email address, health data, meals, workouts or photos, and it is not used for advertising or tracking. Reports are stored by Sentry in the European Union. Invites if you invite a friend, or use a friend's invite code, the Service Provider stores your invite code and a record linking the two accounts, so that both can be given the free period of Premium. This record contains account identifiers only. It does not contain your health, meal or workout data, and it is not shared with the other person beyond the fact that an invite was used.

Challenges

Challenges are optional. If you start or join a challenge with friends, the Service Provider stores your membership of that challenge, a display name (the first word of the name you entered in the app, or "Member" and three characters if you have not entered one) and a single score (the number of workouts you logged this week, or the number of days in a row you have logged), together with the date it was last updated. The other members of that challenge can see your display name and your score. They cannot see your email address, your meals, your workouts or any other data. The score is calculated on your device; the underlying meal and workout records are not sent for this purpose. Leaving a challenge removes your name and score from it, and when the person who started a challenge ends it, the challenge and all of its scores are deleted. If you join a challenge started by a friend, it may also be treated as using that friend's invite code, as described under Invites.

Sharing

If you choose to share a card (for example your week of meals or your place in a challenge), the app creates the picture on your device and hands it to the app you pick. The Service Provider does not receive or store it.
