# First Spoon Privacy Policy
Last updated: June 26, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains what data First Spoon ("First Spoon", "the app", "we", "us") processes and how that data is used.
Contact: hi@wordspire.app
## 1. Summary
First Spoon helps parents track solid foods, reactions, water, growth, and feeding plans.
Most app data is stored locally on your device. We do not sell personal data. We use third-party services only to support subscriptions, app analytics, and crash diagnostics.
## 2. Data you may add to the app
You may choose to add:
- a baby's name or profile nickname;
- date of birth;
- gender, used to order visual themes;
- profile photo;
- feeding diary entries: food, amount, serving form, time, notes, and reaction;
- water entries;
- growth and weight records;
- feeding preferences, allergy settings, notification settings, and app theme;
- exported or imported profile files.
This data is used to show the diary, age-based guidance, plans, recipes, reminders, and history.
## 3. Where data is stored
Diary and profile data is stored locally on your device using iOS storage. If you delete the app, local data may be deleted with it unless iOS restores it from a device backup.
If you export a profile, the app creates a file with that profile data. You choose where to store or share that file.
The app does not create a First Spoon account and does not upload your feeding diary to our own server.
## 4. Photos
If you select a photo from your photo library, the app receives only the image you choose and stores it locally for the profile or entry. The app does not access your full photo library without your selection.
## 5. Notifications
If you allow notifications, the app may send local reminders, such as checking a reaction to a new food or returning to a feeding plan. You can disable notifications in the app settings or iOS settings.
## 6. Subscriptions and purchases
Purchases and subscriptions are processed through Apple App Store and RevenueCat. We use RevenueCat to check whether a subscription is active, restore purchases, and unlock paid features.
RevenueCat may process technical purchase data, subscription status, an app user or device identifier, storefront country, product type, and diagnostic data. Learn more: https://www.revenuecat.com/privacy
Payment card data is processed by Apple. First Spoon does not receive or store your card details.
## 7. Analytics and diagnostics
We use AppMetrica for app analytics and crash diagnostics. This helps us understand app stability, identify errors, and improve the product.
AppMetrica may process device technical data, app version, usage events, crash data, installation or device identifiers, and similar diagnostic data. Learn more: https://appmetrica.yandex.com/about/privacy
We use this data to:
- find and fix errors;
- analyze app stability;
- improve the interface and features;
- understand which features are used most often.
We do not use this data to sell personal information.
## 8. Children's data
The app is intended for parents and legal guardians, not for children to use on their own. We do not ask children to enter data and we do not create child accounts.
Parents decide what child-related data to add. To reduce personal data, you may use a nickname instead of a real name.
## 9. Health information
The app may include general guidance about solid foods, foods, reactions, and safety. This information is not medical advice, diagnosis, or a replacement for a pediatrician.
If your child has allergies, chronic conditions, premature birth, poor weight gain, a strong reaction to food, or other medical needs, follow your doctor's advice.
## 10. Sharing data with third parties
We may share limited data with services needed to operate the app:
- Apple App Store - purchases, subscriptions, refunds, and purchase restoration;
- RevenueCat - subscription management and access status;
- AppMetrica - analytics and crash diagnostics.
Data may also be disclosed when required by law or when necessary to protect users, rights, safety, or app operation.
## 11. International processing
Third-party services may process data in different countries. By using the app, you understand that technical data related to subscriptions, analytics, and diagnostics may be transferred to and processed outside your country.
## 12. Retention
Local data stays on your device until you delete it in the app or delete the app.
Purchase data is retained by Apple and RevenueCat under their policies. Analytics and diagnostic data is retained by AppMetrica under its policies.
## 13. How to delete data
You can:
- delete diary entries or a profile in the app;
- delete the app from your device;
- disable notifications;
- contact support at TODO: add support email.
If you need to delete data related to purchases or analytics held by third-party services, we will help direct the request where possible.
## 14. Security
We use standard iOS and third-party service protections to help protect data. However, no storage or transmission method can be guaranteed to be fully secure.
## 15. Changes to this Policy
We may update this Policy. The new version will be published with a new "Last updated" date. If changes are significant, we will try to notify you in the app or by another available method.
