Leotik Labs built the EvBeat mobile application as a vehicle telemetry and trip tracking tool for electric vehicles. This service is provided by Leotik Labs and is intended for use by EV owners to monitor vehicle performance and track driving statistics.
This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use the EvBeat app.
If you choose to use our Service, you agree to the collection and use of information in relation to this policy.
1. Information We Collect
1.1 Location Information
EvBeat collects precise location data (GPS and network-based) to record vehicle trips, calculate driving distance, and display routes on a map.
Background Location
EvBeat may collect location data in the background to enable automatic trip tracking when your vehicle is detected through the connected OBD device.
This allows the app to automatically start recording trips without requiring you to open the app manually.
You can disable background location access at any time through your device settings.
1.2 Bluetooth and Vehicle Data
EvBeat uses Bluetooth to connect to OBD-II diagnostic adapters installed in your vehicle.
Through this connection, the app may collect vehicle telemetry such as:
Battery State of Charge (SOC)
Odometer readings
Vehicle speed
Battery power and consumption
Trip statistics
This data is used solely to provide driving insights and EV performance statistics within the app.
1.3 Account Information
To enable syncing and account-based features, EvBeat requires users to sign in.
We may collect the following information:
Email address
Unique user identifier
Authentication is handled through Firebase Authentication, which may include email/password login or Google Sign-In.
EvBeat also provides a demo mode, which allows users to explore the app without signing in. Demo mode does not store personal data.
1.4 Crash and Diagnostics Data
We use Firebase Crashlytics to collect anonymous crash reports and diagnostics information in order to improve the stability and reliability of the app.
This data may include:
Device model
Operating system version
App version
Crash logs and performance data
This information does not include trip history or personal driving data.
2. Permissions Used by the App
EvBeat requires certain permissions to function correctly:
Location Permissions

These permissions are used to track trips, calculate distance, and provide accurate driving statistics.
Bluetooth Permissions

These permissions allow the app to discover and communicate with OBD-II hardware installed in your vehicle.
Foreground Service
EvBeat may run a foreground service while connected to your vehicle to ensure that trip recording continues reliably.
3. Data Storage and Retention
Local Storage
Trip logs and vehicle readings may be stored locally on your device in a secure database.
Cloud Storage
EvBeat may optionally sync trip data to secure cloud infrastructure using Firebase services to allow users to access their trip history across devices.
Cloud services may include:
Firebase Authentication
Firebase Realtime Database or Firestore
Data stored in the cloud is associated with your account and used only to provide app functionality.
4. Data Sharing
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties.
We only use trusted service providers necessary for operating the app, including:
Google Play Services (location services)

Firebase Crashlytics
These providers process data solely to deliver functionality and maintain the service.
5. User Control and Data Deletion

Upon receiving a verified request, we will delete the associated account and stored data within a reasonable timeframe.
Users can also remove app data locally by uninstalling the application.
6. Children's Privacy
EvBeat is intended for users aged 18 and older.
We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under the age of 13. If we become aware that such data has been collected, we will delete it immediately.
7. Security
We value your trust in providing your information and strive to use commercially acceptable means to protect it. However, no method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is completely secure.
