EconTool Privacy Policy
This privacy policy applies to the EconTool app (hereby referred to as the "Application") for mobile devices that was created by SCOBAKZ (hereby referred to as the "Service Provider") as a Free service. This service is intended for use "AS IS".
Information Collection and Use
The Application may collect information when you download and use it. This information may include information such as:
your device's Internet Protocol address, for example IP address;
the pages or screens of the Application that you visit;
the time and date of your visit;
the time spent on those pages or screens;
the time spent using the Application;
the operating system you use on your mobile device;
diagnostic and vehicle-related data read from a vehicle adapter, if the user connects the Application to a supported vehicle interface.
Location Data
The Application may collect and process your device's location data only if the user enables GPS parameters in the Application settings and grants the required location permissions.
The Application may use location data, including background location data, for the following purposes:
to calculate and display GPS-based parameters, such as speed, coordinates, altitude, heading, accuracy, date and time;
to calculate altitude changes and trip-related values;
to show GPS parameters together with other vehicle parameters;
to display GPS-related information in floating widgets or other user-visible screens while the Application is running in the background;
to write GPS parameters to local log files, if the user enables logging;
to support integrations with navigation, driver-assistance, anti-radar, or companion applications when such integrations are enabled by the user;
to support future integration with the Service Provider's companion application CarExp for trip recording.
Background location access is used only when the user explicitly enables GPS parameters and grants the "Allow all the time" or equivalent background location permission in Android settings. Background location is needed because EconTool can work as a diagnostic service while the user is using another driving application, such as a navigation app, launcher, or floating widget. Without background location access, GPS-based parameters may stop updating when the user leaves the EconTool screen.
The Application does not use location data for advertising. The Application does not sell location data.
Location data is processed primarily on the user's device. Location data may be stored locally in log files created by the user. If the user enables integrations with companion applications, GPS-related parameters may be passed locally to those applications for user-visible functionality, such as trip recording or displaying driving information.
The user can disable GPS data collection at any time by turning off GPS parameters in the Application settings or by revoking location permissions in Android system settings.
User-Provided Information
For a better experience while using the Application, the Service Provider may require the user to provide certain personally identifiable information, such as purchase, activation, or support-related information. The information requested by the Service Provider will be retained and used as described in this privacy policy.
Third-Party Access
The Application may use third-party services that have their own privacy policies about handling data. Below are links to the privacy policies of third-party service providers used by the Application:
Google Play Services
The Service Provider may disclose User Provided and Automatically Collected Information:
as required by law, such as to comply with a subpoena or similar legal process;
when the Service Provider believes in good faith that disclosure is necessary to protect their rights, protect the user's safety or the safety of others, investigate fraud, or respond to a government request;
with trusted service providers who work on behalf of the Service Provider, do not have an independent use of the information disclosed to them, and have agreed to adhere to the rules set forth in this privacy statement.
The Application does not sell personal data.
Opt-Out Rights
The user can stop all collection of information by the Application by uninstalling it. The user may use the standard uninstall processes available on the mobile device or via the mobile application marketplace.
The user can also disable GPS-related data collection by turning off GPS parameters in the Application settings or by revoking location permissions in Android system settings.
Data Retention Policy
The Service Provider will retain User Provided data for as long as the user uses the Application and for a reasonable time thereafter.
Diagnostic logs and GPS-related log files may be stored locally on the user's device if the user enables logging. The user can delete such files using the Application's tools, file manager tools, or by uninstalling the Application.
If you would like the Service Provider to delete User Provided Data that you have provided via the Application, please contact the Service Provider at scoba1986@gmail.com and they will respond in a reasonable time.
Children
The Application does not address anyone under the age of 13. The Service Provider does not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children under 13 years of age.
In the case the Service Provider discovers that a child under 13 has provided personal information, the Service Provider will immediately delete this information from their records. If you are a parent or guardian and you are aware that your child has provided personal information, please contact the Service Provider at scoba1986@gmail.com so that the necessary actions can be taken.
Security
The Service Provider is concerned about safeguarding the confidentiality of your information. The Service Provider provides physical, electronic, and procedural safeguards to protect information the Service Provider processes and maintains.
However, no method of electronic transmission or storage is 100% secure and reliable, and the Service Provider cannot guarantee absolute security.
Changes
This Privacy Policy may be updated from time to time for any reason. The Service Provider will notify users of any changes to the Privacy Policy by updating this page with the new Privacy Policy.
Users are advised to consult this Privacy Policy regularly for any changes, as continued use is deemed approval of all changes.

By using the Application, you are consenting to the processing of your information as set forth in this Privacy Policy now and as amended by the Service Provider.
