This Privacy Policy applies to the Dhunix mobile application (hereby referred to as "Application", "App", or "Service"), available on mobile devices, created and maintained by Dhunix Team (hereby referred to as "Service Provider", "we", "us", or "our") as a Free and Ad-supported / Freemium service with optional in-app subscriptions. This service is provided for use "AS IS".

Summary: Dhunix respects your privacy. We only collect the minimal information necessary to deliver seamless music playback, manage your playlists and favorites, sync user preferences across devices, and support in-app subscriptions. We do not sell your personal information.

1. Information Collection and Use

When you download, install, and use the Application, we may collect certain information to provide and improve the service:

A. Information You Provide:

  • Account Details: When you register or sign in using Email/Password or Google Sign-In, we collect your email address, display name, and unique user identifier (UID).
  • User Content: Custom playlists you create, favorite tracks, recently played songs, listening queue, and custom app preferences (e.g. streaming audio quality settings, dark mode preferences).

B. Automatically Collected Information:

  • Device Information: Device model, operating system version, unique device identifiers, and network connection type.
  • Usage Analytics: Song play counts, search queries, screen navigation within the app, and crash logs to troubleshoot errors and optimize app performance.
  • Approximate Location: Country/region inferred from your IP address to deliver localized songs, trending charts, and appropriate regional language recommendations. The App does not access precise GPS location.

2. Background Audio & Device Permissions

To provide high-quality music streaming, Dhunix requests specific Android device permissions:

  • FOREGROUND_SERVICE & MEDIA_PLAYBACK: Allows music playback to continue smoothly when the screen is turned off or when you navigate away from the app, and displays playback controls in the lock screen and notification shade.
  • POST_NOTIFICATIONS: Required on Android 13 and above to display the active media player card, album art, and playback control buttons in the notification drawer.
  • WAKE_LOCK: Ensures uninterrupted music streaming without the operating system putting the audio decoder into sleep mode during playback.
  • BILLING: Handled securely via Google Play to process premium subscriptions.

We use the collected information for the following purposes:

  • To stream audio tracks and synchronize your playlists, favorites, and listening history.
  • To verify active VIP / Premium subscriptions and grant ad-free, high-bitrate streaming entitlements.
  • To detect, prevent, and troubleshoot technical glitches, crashes, and performance issues.
  • To provide customer support and respond to user inquiries.

5. Data Retention & Security

We take the security of your data seriously. We employ industry-standard encryption protocols (SSL/TLS for data in transit and Firebase security rules for data at rest) to prevent unauthorized access, alteration, or disclosure. We retain your account data for as long as your account remains active.

6. Account & Data Deletion Policy

In full compliance with Google Play Developer Policies, Dhunix gives all users complete control over their personal data:

  1. In-App Deletion: You can request account deletion directly from the Profile / Settings screen within the Dhunix app.
  2. Email Request: You can email us at kakarsh3@gmail.com with the subject line "Account Deletion Request - Dhunix" from your registered email address.
  3. What is Deleted: Upon receiving your request, your authentication credentials, personal profile details, saved playlists, favorites, and history will be permanently deleted from our servers within 7 business days.

7. Children's Privacy

Dhunix is not directed to children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal identifiable information from children under 13. If we discover that a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, we immediately delete it from our servers. Parents or guardians who believe their child has submitted personal info can contact us at kakarsh3@gmail.com.

8. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update our Privacy Policy periodically to reflect new features or legal requirements. Any modifications will be posted directly on this page with an updated "Effective Date". We recommend reviewing this policy regularly.
