Hi Acolytes!
After almost a year, another blog post. This one will be short.
First of all: we haven’t stopped developing Masters of Madness, even if it might have felt that way. We’re still working on it full time. That said, we had to adjust our timeline slightly, introducing the Acolyte promo pack and doubling offline ads to keep development sustainable long term as well as giving everyone more opportunities to increase the soul gains. So far, that decision seems to be working out, and we believe these additions are overall positive for the game.
Now, to what’s ahead…
A new section of Leviathan is finally opening up. We’re working on a new node, alongside a new minion and Leviathan blessings that expand on how the late-game is approached. This expansion is meant to push your progression further, opening the path to higher sps and soultap values. As of now, this is our number 1 priority.
Following this, we’ve begun to design new artefacts for your collection, and possibly the long-awaited new fetishes. It’s still too early for us to give a clear timeline on these, but they are already taking shape behind the scenes.
Thanks for staying with us. We hope you continue enjoying Masters of Madness as much as we enjoy working on it.

Hi Acolytes!
Now that the Ostara 2025 event is almost behind us, let’s talk about what comes next.
In our last blog post, we laid out our plans for 2025. Of course there will always be some adaptations along the way, and we’ll keep you updated. We like to stay agile - responding to reported issues, occasionally shifting priorities on what new features we want to implement, and sometimes re-evaluating ideas. Occasionally, we realise an idea isn’t as good as it first seemed, or we come up with something new and way cooler. We've always been flexible with our pipeline, and we intend to keep it that way.
For now, we want to address a few things:
Leviathan and Devotion:
We’re aware that in the early phases of the Leviathan, soultaps are almost useless, making Devotion effectively the worst Path of Destiny right now for the first few universes. More importantly, this makes the first few journeys towards the black hole unnecessarily difficult.
Now that our backend issues are sorted and the event is wrapped up (and thank you, we loved hearing how much you enjoyed it! It’s always super motivating for us 😊), we’re ready to tackle this issue. Our plan involves two new systems with blessings to unlock and empower them. They won't go live simultaneously, but rather one after the other. We don't want to wait here and rather adjust as impactfully as we can, as soon as we can. Overall we want ravens and tapping to be strong and relevant, not just in the early and late game, but in the mid-game too.
Occult Shrine Balance:
We’re not happy with how dominant the Occult Shrine has become in gameplay. As a repeatable buff with a small cost, balancing-wise we took the Time Jump as a guideline. We designed the fetishes to be moderately more powerful than the Time Jump (in relation to their cost), since it takes more effort to plan around it and isn't instant like the Time Jump is. But in hindsight, we underestimated how strong it becomes when combined with other buffs. Paired with the free fetishes from the fire (which we actually like - this is a system we want all players to engage with), very strong multipliers end up running practically 24/7. That was not the goal.
We’ll be heavily nerfing fetish multipliers across the board. We won’t be changing durations too much, except for a few specific cases, and those changes will be minor. Any exploits here will also be removed. Our goal is for the shrine to complement the gameplay - not dictate it.
As a result, the Shrine update/artefact will be postponed for now. Buffing while nerfing the same thing makes no sense, and we want to first observe how the changes feel in practice. But don’t worry - there’s plenty of content in the pipeline to keep most everyone happy.
As is our motto by now: We’re always working to improve Masters of Madness and make it the best game it can be. Veterans know that this sometimes means significant nerfs, but also significant buffs… balance being a double-edged sword and all. ;)
P.S. Some of you asked about keeping the Eldritch Eggs available year-round. We’ve been thinking about this. We want to preserve the special and unique feel of the Ostara event - something to look forward to each year. That said, we believe there’s some room for flexibility here. Our priorities are currently elsewhere, but this idea was actually on our radar even before the event went live. We just had to focus on getting the event out on time, and honestly, we went through an intense crunch phase to make that happen, so extras had to wait.
Thanks again for taking part in the event and supporting us. We hope to keep delivering the best we can.

Dev Diary - 07.02.2025
Welcome to our first development diary entry! Here we want to share with you about what we are busy with and what's in the pipeline for MoM.
Let’s first talk about what we are doing right now: Well currently backend, and backend only. This won’t be all that exciting but it’s work that needs to be done and sadly it takes a lot of time. Since we are adjusting things like authentication and save files, we have to make sure that nothing goes wrong when we go live. Hence we are testing and tweaking extensively.
When we’re through with these changes there will be an anonymous login option for Android, and the anonymous accounts will be able to save in the cloud just like authenticated accounts. We are removing the now useless feeling connection buttons in the settings and adding a display that shows which providers your account is associated with (so you have the information in case you want to play on another device). Your player ids will change once and from now on will become fixed (Normally they change when you do a fresh game, which was not ideal). We’ve also been fixing some bugs in the system and making the whole thing a more polished experience.
Also, we are removing Google Sign In (NOT Google Play log in). This is being used so rarely and is becoming more trouble than it’s worth. If you are logging in via Google Sign In, you will be able to continue doing so, but new accounts won’t have it as an option.
NOW ON TO THE EXCITING STUFF
We can’t spoil too much, but we are preparing a new ability and new blessings to go with it. This, when unlocked will invite a different kind of visitor to grace us in the forgotten temple. An artifact is also on the horizon, to be released at the same time.
We are also planning something for Ostara/Easter this time. Stay tuned.
We have another group of late game Blessings planned that will overhaul soultap. Currently at the start of Leviathan soultap feels quite a bit lackluster, and like you we also feel that this needs fixing. We think we have a good idea how to alleviate this and make tapping more fun at the same time.
Further down the road map this year we have a larger Shrine update planned and the next nether minion. However, the first two projects are currently our focus. We can’t wait to get back to these as soon as the boring stuff subsides.
We will do these dev updates every two-three months or so, to just let everyone know what we’re up to. As always thank YOU for playing MoM!
