Privacy Policy

Effective date: April 17, 2025

Last updated: April 18, 2026

1. Introduction

DadBrain ("the App") is a personal family scheduling assistant for iOS, developed and operated by DSPRODUCTIONS ("we", "us", or "our"). The App helps parents manage family schedules by extracting tasks and calendar events from uploaded documents such as school newsletters, activity schedules, PDFs, and photos.

This Privacy Policy explains what data the App processes, how it is used, who it is shared with, and what your rights are. Please read it carefully before using the App.

By using DadBrain you acknowledge that you have read and understood this policy.

2. Who We Are (Data Controller)

The data controller for the purposes of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and applicable Swedish and EU data protection law is:

DSPRODUCTIONS

Contact e-mail: [YOUR EMAIL ADDRESS]

Country of establishment: Sweden

If you have any questions about this policy or wish to exercise your rights, please contact us at the e-mail address above.

3. What Data We Process

3.1 Data stored locally on your device

The following data is entered by you and stored exclusively on your device using Apple's Core Data framework and the iOS Calendar:

Child profile information — name, school name, class/year, avatar, and colour preference

Uploaded document files — PDFs, photos, and Office documents you import into the App

Extracted tasks and calendar events derived from those documents

Recurring activity schedules you confirm within the App

App settings and preferences

None of this data is transmitted to DSPRODUCTIONS servers. DSPRODUCTIONS operates no backend servers and holds no copy of your personal data.

3.2 Data transmitted to our AI processor

When you upload a document for analysis, the content of that document — including any text, images, or data it contains — is transmitted over an encrypted HTTPS connection to our third-party AI processor, Anthropic, Inc. (see Section 5). This transmission is necessary to provide the core feature of the App: automatically extracting tasks and calendar events from documents.

The document content may include personal information such as names of children or family members, school names, class schedules, and event details, depending on what the document contains.

No document content is retained by DSPRODUCTIONS. The transmission is transient — data is sent, processed, and a response (extracted tasks/events) is returned. See Section 5 for Anthropic's data handling practices.

3.3 Subscription status

DadBrain offers an optional monthly subscription (49 SEK/month) that unlocks full access to the AI document analysis feature. Subscription purchases and billing are handled exclusively by Apple's App Store in-app purchase system via StoreKit. DSPRODUCTIONS does not collect, process, or store payment card numbers, bank account details, or billing addresses.

When you purchase or restore a subscription, Apple's StoreKit framework verifies your subscription status on-device. DSPRODUCTIONS receives only a confirmation of whether a valid subscription is active — no payment details or financial information are transmitted to us.

Subscription management, cancellation, and refund requests are handled by Apple. To cancel your subscription, go to iOS Settings → [your Apple ID] → Subscriptions → DadBrain. Refund requests must be submitted to Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com.

3.4 Data we do NOT collect

We do not collect, store, or transmit any of the following:

Your name, e-mail address, or account credentials

Payment card numbers, bank account details, or billing addresses — all payment processing is handled by Apple

Device identifiers, advertising IDs, or IP addresses (by us)

Location data

Analytics, crash logs, or usage telemetry (no analytics SDK is embedded)

Data from children directly — the App is operated by parents and guardians

4. Legal Basis for Processing (GDPR)

If you are located in the European Economic Area (EEA), we process personal data on the following legal bases:

Legitimate interest (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR): When you upload a document and request AI analysis, we have a legitimate interest in transmitting that document to our AI processor to deliver the service you have actively requested. This interest is not overridden by your data protection rights because: (a) you initiate every upload deliberately; (b) no data is retained beyond the processing request; and (c) the data is processed solely to return results to you.

Contract performance (Article 6(1)(b) GDPR): Processing is necessary to provide the functionality of the App that you have chosen to use, including verifying your active subscription status in order to grant access to subscription features.

5. Third-Party Processors

5.1 Anthropic, Inc. — AI Processor

We use Anthropic, Inc. as our third-party data processor for AI inference. The following details apply:

Processor name: Anthropic, Inc.

Role: Data processor (AI analysis of uploaded documents)

Registered address: 548 Market St, PMB 90375, San Francisco, California 94104, USA

Purpose: Extracting tasks and calendar events from document content sent by the App

Data transferred: The raw content of each document you upload (text, images, or PDF data), along with a system prompt describing the extraction task

Retention by Anthropic: Anthropic does not retain API request content to train its models under the standard API terms of service. Inputs and outputs may be stored transiently for abuse monitoring and safety purposes, as described in Anthropic's privacy policy

Legal basis for international transfer: Anthropic is located in the United States. The transfer is governed by Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) adopted under GDPR Article 46(2)(c), as provided in Anthropic's Data Processing Agreement available to API customers

Anthropic's privacy policy is available at:

https://www.anthropic.com/privacy

We have no control over Anthropic's internal security and retention practices beyond what is governed by their API terms and Data Processing Agreement. By using the AI analysis feature of DadBrain, you acknowledge that document content will be transmitted to Anthropic in the United States for processing.

If you do not wish to transmit a document to Anthropic, do not use the upload and analyse feature for that document. All other app features (task management, calendar integration, settings) function without any data leaving your device.

5.2 Apple, Inc. — Payment Processor

Subscription purchases (49 SEK/month) are processed exclusively by Apple, Inc. through the App Store in-app purchase system. The following details apply:

Processor name: Apple, Inc.

Role: Payment processor (subscription billing and management)

Registered address: One Apple Park Way, Cupertino, California 95014, USA

Purpose: Processing subscription purchases, renewals, cancellations, and refunds

Data handled by Apple: Payment card details, billing address, Apple ID, and purchase history — none of this is transmitted to or stored by DSPRODUCTIONS

Data shared with DSPRODUCTIONS: Subscription status only (active / expired / trial), verified on-device via StoreKit — no financial data is included

Legal basis for transfer: Apple operates under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework and its own Standard Contractual Clauses. Apple's compliance documentation is available at apple.com/legal/privacy

Apple's privacy policy is available at:

https://www.apple.com/legal/privacy/

To manage, pause, or cancel your subscription, go to: iOS Settings → [your Apple ID] → Subscriptions → DadBrain. To request a refund, visit reportaproblem.apple.com. DSPRODUCTIONS cannot process refunds directly — all billing disputes must be directed to Apple.

6. International Data Transfers

DadBrain is developed in Sweden (EU/EEA). International data transfers occur in two contexts:

Anthropic (AI processing): Document content is transmitted to Anthropic in the United States as described in Section 5.1. This transfer is governed by Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) under GDPR Article 46(2)(c) as provided in Anthropic's Data Processing Agreement.

Apple (payment processing): Subscription billing is handled by Apple in the United States as described in Section 5.2. Apple participates in the EU-US Data Privacy Framework and operates under its own SCCs. DSPRODUCTIONS receives no financial data from this transfer.

No other transfers of personal data to third countries take place.

7. Data Storage and Retention

All data stored by DadBrain — including child profiles, tasks, calendar events, and document archives — resides exclusively on your iOS device. We apply the following retention rules:

Data remains on your device until you delete it within the App (Settings → Clear All Data) or uninstall the App

Deleting the App removes all App data from the device

Calendar events added to iOS Calendar remain in iOS Calendar until you delete them there

iCloud backup: if you have enabled iCloud backup for this App, Apple may back up App data to iCloud under Apple's own privacy policy. This is governed by Apple, not by DSPRODUCTIONS

DSPRODUCTIONS retains no data on any server.

8. Children's Data

DadBrain is designed for use by parents and guardians aged 18 and over. The App is not directed at children. Children do not interact with the App directly.

The App stores child profile information (name, school, class) locally on the device, entered by the parent or guardian. This information is used solely to personalise AI prompts so that extracted tasks are filtered to be relevant to the correct child. This information may be included in document content transmitted to Anthropic when it is present in an uploaded document.

We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under the age of 16. If you believe that a child has provided personal information to this App in a manner not described above, please contact us so we can address it.

9. Your Rights Under GDPR

If you are located in the EEA, you have the following rights in relation to your personal data:

Right of access (Article 15): You have the right to know what personal data we hold about you. Since all data is stored on your device, you can access it directly within the App.

Right to rectification (Article 16): You can correct inaccurate data directly within the App at any time.

Right to erasure (Article 17): You can delete all data by using Settings → Clear All Data, or by uninstalling the App.

Right to restriction of processing (Article 18): You can restrict AI processing by not uploading documents to the analysis feature.

Right to data portability (Article 20): All your data is held locally on your device and is accessible to you at all times.

Right to object (Article 21): You may object to processing based on legitimate interest by contacting us. In practice, you can withdraw from AI processing at any time by ceasing to use the document upload feature.

Right to lodge a complaint: You have the right to lodge a complaint with your national supervisory authority. In Sweden, this is Integritetsskyddsmyndigheten (IMY): www.imy.se

To exercise any of these rights, contact us at: djibrilsvanteson@gmail.com

We will respond to requests within 30 days as required under GDPR Article 12.

Because DSPRODUCTIONS holds no server-side data, most rights can be exercised immediately and directly within the App itself.

10. Security

We implement the following security measures to protect your data:

All communication between the App and Anthropic's API is transmitted over HTTPS (TLS 1.2 or higher)

Data is stored locally on your device and protected by iOS device encryption

No DSPRODUCTIONS server infrastructure exists that could be compromised to expose your data

The App does not embed advertising SDKs, analytics SDKs, or other third-party tracking libraries

No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure. While we use appropriate technical measures, we cannot guarantee absolute security. The main security risk for your data lies in the security of your iOS device itself, which is governed by Apple's security model.

11. Apple Platform Services

DadBrain uses the following Apple platform services, each governed by Apple's own privacy policy and terms:

Core Data: Local on-device database storage

EventKit / iOS Calendar: Creating and reading calendar events on your device

iOS Share Extension: Receiving documents shared from other apps (e.g. Files, Safari, Mail)

StoreKit / App Store in-app purchases: Processing subscription billing and verifying subscription status on-device

iCloud backup (optional, controlled by your device settings)

Apple's privacy policy is available at: https://www.apple.com/legal/privacy/

12. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in the App's functionality, legal requirements, or our data practices. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this document and publish the revised policy at the same URL.

For material changes, we will make reasonable efforts to notify you (for example, through an in-app notice). Your continued use of the App after a policy change constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.

We encourage you to review this policy periodically.

13. Governing Law

This Privacy Policy is governed by the laws of Sweden and the European Union, including the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) (EU) 2016/679. Any disputes arising from this policy shall be subject to the jurisdiction of Swedish courts, without prejudice to your right to bring a complaint before your national data protection supervisory authority.
