# Privacy Policy — Crossword

_Last updated: 14 September 2026_

BT Developer ("we", "us") operates the

Crossword mobile application (the "App"). This policy explains what data the

App processes and why.

This policy is provided in English only.

## Summary

The App works fully offline. We do not operate a server, we do not

require an account, and we do not collect your name, email address, or

any other information that identifies you personally. The only data

processing that happens is what is needed to show advertising, to process

an optional one-time in-app purchase, and — in regions where the law

requires it — to record your advertising consent choice. All of that is

handled by Google's own SDKs, not by code we wrote.

## Information we do not collect

- No account or sign-in. The App has none.

- No name, email address, phone number, or postal address.

- No access to contacts, camera, microphone, photos, or precise location.

- No user-generated content. Nothing you enter in a puzzle is sent

  anywhere.

## Information stored only on your device

The App saves the following using standard Android and iOS app storage.

It is never transmitted to us, because we have no server to send it to:

- Your app language selection, and separately the language you play

  puzzles in

- Your appearance choice (system, light, or dark)

- Your selected difficulty

- Puzzle progress: the letters you have entered and which puzzles you

  have completed

- Sound effect, vibration, and background music preferences

- Whether play reminders are switched on, and the time you last opened a

puzzle (used only to decide whether to send that reminder)

- Whether you have purchased Remove Ads

- Whether you have completed first-time setup

Uninstalling the App deletes all of it.

## Notifications

**Play reminders** are on by default. If you have not played for a

couple of days, the App schedules a single reminder on your device to

nudge you to come back. These notifications are generated entirely on

your device. There is no push service, no server, and no device token is

created or transmitted.

Because the reminder is on by default, the App asks for your device's

notification permission the first time you use it. If you decline, no

reminder is scheduled and the setting stays off. You can switch play

reminders off at any time from **Settings**, which also cancels any

pending reminder, and your choice is remembered — an update will not

switch them back on.

## Information processed by third-party services

### Advertising — Google AdMob (Google Mobile Ads SDK)

Unless you have purchased Remove Ads, the App shows banner,

interstitial, and rewarded video ads through Google AdMob. To do this,

Google's SDK may process:

- Your device's advertising identifier, subject to your device's ad

  tracking settings

- Approximate location derived from your IP address, for ad relevance

  and fraud prevention

- Device and app information such as device model, operating system

  version, and app version

This processing is governed by Google's Privacy Policy

(https://policies.google.com/privacy) and, for ad personalization

specifically, Google's Ads Privacy & Terms

Ads require an internet connection. Playing puzzles does not.

### Advertising consent — Google User Messaging Platform

Where the law requires it — for example for users in the European

Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or Switzerland — the App uses Google's

User Messaging Platform to ask for your consent before showing

personalized ads. This determines your approximate region, in order to

know whether consent is required, and stores your choice. You can change

that choice at any time from **Settings → Ad privacy options**.

No ad is requested, and the advertising SDK is not started, until that

consent step has completed.

### Purchases — Google Play Billing

The optional "Remove Ads" purchase is a one-time purchase processed

entirely by Google Play Billing. We never see or store your payment card

details; those are handled by Google Play. We receive only confirmation

that the purchase completed, which is stored on your device so the App

knows to stop showing ads.

### Analytics

The App does **not** transmit analytics. Product events such as "puzzle

completed" are written to the local debug log during development only,

and no analytics data leaves your device.

If this ever changes, this section and the Google Play Data Safety

declaration must both be updated to name the provider and state what it

collects.

## Age requirement

The App is intended for users aged 13 and over. It is not directed at

children under 13, and its Google Play target audience is declared

accordingly.

We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone, including

children: the App has no account, and it does not collect names, email

addresses, phone numbers, or any other information that directly

identifies a user.

If you are a parent or guardian and have questions about the App's

privacy practices, contact us at baladream.help@gmail.com.

## Legal basis for processing (GDPR)

We are established in Finland, so the EU General Data Protection

Regulation applies to this App.

- **Personalized advertising** is processed on the basis of your

**consent**, collected through Google's User Messaging Platform before

any ad is requested. You may withdraw it at any time from

**Settings → Ad privacy options**; withdrawal does not affect

processing carried out before you withdrew.

- **Non-personalized advertising and fraud prevention** rely on our

**legitimate interest** in funding a free app, balanced against the

  limited data involved.

- **Your purchase**, if you make one, is processed by Google Play as

necessary to **perform the contract** for that purchase.

The data controller is BT Developer. For the advertising and payment processing described

above, Google acts as an independent controller of that data under its

own privacy policy.

## Your rights

Under the GDPR you have the right to access your personal data, to have

it corrected or erased, to restrict or object to its processing, and to

data portability.

We hold no personal data ourselves — everything this App stores stays on

your device — so in practice there is nothing for us to retrieve, correct

or erase on your behalf; uninstalling the App removes it all. Requests

concerning advertising or purchase data should be directed to Google,

which holds that data as its own controller.

You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory

authority. In Finland that is the Office of the Data Protection

Ombudsman (Tietosuojavaltuutetun toimisto), tietosuoja.fi.

## Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The "last updated" date at

the top will change when we do, and the current version will always be

available at
