CreditCat Privacy Policy

This privacy policy applies to the CreditCat app (hereby referred to as "Application") for mobile devices that was created by Siou Ci Lin (hereby referred to as "Service Provider"). This service is intended for use "AS IS".

Information You Provide

To use the Application you sign in with Apple. When you do, the Application receives an identifier that lets it recognize your account, and your email address if you choose to share it. You may also set a display name, which is shown to the people you send a payment reminder to.

The Application lets you keep a private record of money that other people owe you. The information you enter for this purpose may include:

  • The name you give to a person who owes you money
  • Amounts, currency, and dates
  • A description of each item (for example, "Rent" or "Groceries")

The information the Service Provider receives is retained and used as described in this privacy policy.

Information About Other People You Enter

Because the Application is for tracking money owed to you, you may enter information about other people — typically a name and amounts. Those people have not signed up for the Application themselves.

  • The Service Provider processes this information on the basis of your legitimate interest in keeping a record of, and following up on, money that is owed to you.
  • When you send a reminder, the other person receives a link to a page that shows what they owe you and your display name. They are not required to create an account or install anything.
  • On that page, the person may choose to indicate that they have paid, promise a date to pay (and optionally leave an email address so a reminder can be sent), interact with the on-screen cat, or ask to stop receiving reminders. Any information they choose to submit there — such as an email address, a payment note, or a request to stop — is stored and shown to the person who created the record.

If You Have Been Named in the Application

If you are someone who received a reminder and you want reminders to stop, use the "Stop these reminders" option on the page you were sent, or contact the Service Provider at 0x0def24@gmail.com. Choosing to stop reminders stops any further reminders about that debt. It does not by itself erase the record that the sender keeps. If you would like information about you to be erased, contact the Service Provider at the email above and they will respond within a reasonable time.

Local Notifications

The Application can schedule reminders that appear on your own device. These are generated on your device to help you remember when to follow up, and do not require the Service Provider to track your activity.

Automatically Collected Information

The Application does not gather precise information about the location of your mobile device.

The Application does not use Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies to process your data or provide features.

The Application stores your account and your records using Supabase, a third-party infrastructure provider that operates on the Service Provider's behalf. As part of delivering the service, standard technical information (such as an Internet Protocol address) may be processed by that provider.

Third Party Access

The Service Provider does not sell your information. The Service Provider may disclose the information described above:

  • as required by law, such as to comply with a subpoena or similar legal process;
  • when they believe in good faith that disclosure is necessary to protect their rights, protect your safety or the safety of others, investigate fraud, or respond to a government request;
  • to trusted service providers who work on their behalf, do not have an independent use of the information disclosed to them, and have agreed to adhere to the rules set forth in this privacy statement.

Your Rights and Choices

You can delete your account at any time from within the Application, in the settings screen. Deleting your account removes your account and the records associated with it from the Service Provider's systems.

Because you sign in with Apple, after deleting your account you can also stop the Application from using your Apple ID. On your device, go to Settings, tap your name, tap Sign in with Apple, select CreditCat, and choose to stop using your Apple ID.

Data Retention Policy

The Service Provider will retain the information you provide for as long as you use the Application and for a reasonable time thereafter. If you would like the Service Provider to delete information you have provided, you can delete your account within the Application or contact them at 0x0def24@gmail.com, and they will respond within a reasonable time.

Children

The Service Provider does not use the Application to knowingly solicit data from or market to children under the age of 13.

The Service Provider does not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children. The Service Provider encourages all children to never submit any personally identifiable information through the Application and/or Services. The Service Provider encourages parents and legal guardians to monitor their children's Internet usage and to help enforce this Policy by instructing their children never to provide personally identifiable information through the Application and/or Services without their permission. If you have reason to believe that a child has provided personally identifiable information to the Service Provider through the Application and/or Services, please contact the Service Provider (0x0def24@gmail.com) so that they will be able to take the necessary actions. You must also be at least 16 years of age to consent to the processing of your personally identifiable information in your country (in some countries we may allow your parent or guardian to do so on your behalf).

Security

The Service Provider is concerned about safeguarding the confidentiality of your information. The Service Provider provides physical, electronic, and procedural safeguards to protect information the Service Provider processes and maintains.

Changes

This Privacy Policy may be updated from time to time for any reason. The Service Provider will notify you of any changes to the Privacy Policy by updating this page with the new Privacy Policy. You are advised to consult this Privacy Policy regularly for any changes, as continued use is deemed approval of all changes.

This privacy policy is effective as of 2026-08-02.

Your Consent

By using the Application, you are consenting to the processing of your information as set forth in this Privacy Policy now and as amended by us.
