Zentryx Labs ("we," "us," or "our") built the ClearBill app as a free/freemium app. This service is provided by us at no cost and is intended for use as is. This page informs visitors and users regarding our policies regarding the collection, use, and disclosure of Personal Information if anyone decides to use our Service.
If you choose to use ClearBill, then you agree to the collection and use of information in relation to this policy. The Personal Information that we collect is used for providing and improving the Service. We will not use or share your information with anyone except as described in this Privacy Policy.
1. Information We Collect
To provide a seamless experience, ClearBill collects and processes the following types of information:
Account Information: When you create an account to enable cloud syncing, we collect your email address. This is authenticated securely via Firebase Authentication or Google Sign-In.
Financial & App Data: We collect the subscription details you input into the app, including service names, billing cycles, costs, categories, and custom budgets.
Device & Usage Data: We may collect automatically generated diagnostic data (such as crash logs and basic device information) to help us identify bugs and improve app stability.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use the collected information strictly to operate and improve the app. Specifically, we use your data to:
Provide Core Functionality: Calculate your monthly spending, track upcoming renewals, and trigger local device notifications when a bill is due.
Enable Cloud Backup: Securely sync your subscriptions, categories, and preferences across your devices using Cloud Firestore.
Authenticate Users: Ensure your data remains private and is only accessible by you when logged into your account.
3. Third-Party Services
ClearBill utilizes trusted third-party services to facilitate our Service. These providers have access to your Personal Information only to perform tasks on our behalf and are obligated not to disclose or use it for any other purpose. Our primary third-party service providers include:
Google Play Services: For app distribution and basic device analytics.
Firebase Authentication: To securely manage user sign-ups and logins.
Google Cloud Firestore: To host and sync your encrypted subscription data securely in the cloud.
4. Data Security
We value your trust in providing us your Personal Information, thus we strive to use commercially acceptable means of protecting it. All data synced to the cloud is transmitted over secure, encrypted connections (HTTPS) and stored securely on Google's infrastructure. However, remember that no method of transmission over the internet, or method of electronic storage, is 100% secure and reliable, and we cannot guarantee its absolute security.
5. Data Retention and Deletion
Your subscription data and preferences are stored locally on your device and synced to your cloud account.
You can delete individual subscriptions or categories directly within the app at any time.
If you wish to delete your entire account and purge all cloud data, you can request account deletion by contacting us at the email provided below. Uninstalling the app will immediately delete all locally stored data on your device.
6. Local Notifications
ClearBill uses your device's local WorkManager to scan your upcoming bills and send you push notifications. This process happens entirely locally on your device. We do not track your notification interactions on our servers.
7. Children’s Privacy
These Services do not address anyone under the age of 13 (or 18, as applicable by regional law). We do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children. If we discover that a child has provided us with personal information, we immediately delete this from our servers. If you are a parent or guardian and you are aware that your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us.
8. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. Thus, you are advised to review this page periodically for any changes. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page. These changes are effective immediately after they are posted.
