Cab Ready — Privacy Policy (User App)

Cab Ready (“we”, “our”, “us”) is a ride-hailing application that lets users discover nearby cabs, book rides, and track trips. This Privacy Policy explains what data we collect, why we collect it, how we use and share it, and the choices you have.
1) Information We Collect
Account & Profile
Name, mobile number, email, profile photo (optional), referral code.
Verification codes (OTP).
Location
Precise and approximate location (GPS, Wi-Fi, cell towers) while the app is in use to show nearby cabs, set pickup/drop, calculate fares, and enable live trip tracking.
During an active trip, location may remain active in the foreground for continuous tracking. We do not track your location when the app is closed.
Ride & Usage
Pickup, drop, route, timestamps, fare, payment status, promo usage, ratings/reviews, in-app support messages.
App activity (screens/events), device and performance data (crash logs, diagnostics), device identifiers (e.g., Android Advertising ID).
Payments
We use a third-party payment gateway to process payments. We receive payment status/transaction IDs but do not store full card or UPI details on our servers.
Logs & Cookies (if you visit our website)
IP address, browser type, cookie identifiers for security, analytics, and session management.
2) How We Use Your Information
Provide core features: search, booking, navigation, trip tracking, support.
Safety and fraud prevention, dispute resolution.
Customer support and service notifications (ride updates, receipts).
Improve reliability, performance, and user experience (analytics, crash diagnostics).
Legal compliance and enforcement of terms.
3) Sharing & Disclosure
We do not sell your personal data. We share only as needed:
Drivers: first name/initial, pickup/drop, live location (relative to pickup), contact masking/call relay where available.
Service providers: maps & navigation (e.g., Google Maps), cloud hosting, analytics (e.g., Firebase), crash reporting, SMS/OTP vendors, payment gateways.
Business transfers: in case of merger/acquisition/asset sale.
Legal: to comply with law or protect rights, safety, and security.
All vendors are bound by contractual obligations to protect your data and use it only for the specified purpose.
4) Your Choices & Controls
Permissions: You can disable location/notifications in device settings (features may degrade).
Access/Update: Edit profile info in the app.
Delete: You can request deletion of your account and personal data by emailing support@cabready from your registered email/number.
Marketing: You may opt out of promotional messages; essential ride/service messages will still be sent.
5) Data Retention
Account & ride records: kept as long as you have an account and as needed for legitimate business and legal requirements (e.g., tax, fraud prevention, dispute handling).
Diagnostics & analytics: typically 12–24 months in aggregated or pseudonymized form.
We delete or anonymize data when it’s no longer needed, unless law requires longer retention.
6) Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures (encryption in transit, access controls, monitoring). However, no system is 100% secure.
7) Children
Cab Ready is not intended for children under 13. If you believe a child has provided data, contact us for deletion.
8) International Transfers
Your data may be processed on servers located outside your state/country with appropriate safeguards.
9) Legal Bases & Compliance
We process data to perform the contract (provide rides), with your consent (permissions/notifications), for legitimate interests (safety, fraud prevention, improvement), and to comply with law. We aim to comply with applicable laws, including India’s Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 and IT rules, as they apply.
10) Changes to This Policy
We may update this Policy. Material changes will be notified in-app or by email with a new “Effective date”.

Play Console — Data safety (User App)
Use this as a guide while filling the “Data safety” form. Include only items your build actually uses.
Data collected (linked to user):
Location: Precise, Approximate (app in use; during active trip).
Personal info: Name, phone, email, profile photo (optional).
Financial info: Payment status/transaction IDs (via gateway; card/UPI not stored by us).
App activity: In-app interactions (booking events, ratings/reviews).
App info & performance: Crash logs, diagnostics.
Device or other IDs: Advertising ID or app-specific IDs.
Data sharing:
With drivers (limited ride details) to fulfill trips.
With service providers (maps, analytics, crash reporting, OTP, payment) under contracts.
Purpose of data collection:
App functionality, account management, fraud prevention, analytics, and app performance.
Data handling & security:
Data is encrypted in transit.
You can request deletion (account/data deletion flow via support email).
No data is sold.
Optional declarations (if applicable):
Background location not collected by the User App (only foreground during use/active trip).
Marketing/ads SDKs: declare if present.
