PRIVACY POLICY — BRICK
Last updated: 12 June 2026
Brick ("the app") is an Android application that lets you browse real-estate
projects registered with the Karnataka Real Estate Regulatory Authority (RERA)
for Bengaluru Urban and Bengaluru Rural. All project information shown in the
app comes from the Karnataka RERA public portal (rera.karnataka.gov.in), which
remains the authoritative source.
This policy explains what data the app does and does not handle. It applies to
the Brick Android app published on Google Play by Chiranth ("we", "us").
1. DATA WE COLLECT
We do not collect, store, or sell any personal data ourselves.
- The app has no user accounts, no sign-in, and no registration.
- We do not ask for your name, email address, phone number, contacts,
location, photos, or any other personal information.
- The app requests only the INTERNET permission. It does not access your
device location, camera, microphone, storage, or contacts.
- We do not include any analytics or crash-reporting SDK of our own.
2. DATA STORED ON YOUR DEVICE
To work offline and remember your preferences, the app stores the following
on your device only:
- A local copy of the public RERA project data, so the app works offline.
- Projects you bookmark ("Saved" projects).
- Your settings (for example, the light/dark theme choice) and small
housekeeping values (for example, when an ad was last shown).
This data never leaves your device, is not transmitted to us, and is deleted
when you uninstall the app or clear its storage.
3. ADVERTISING (GOOGLE ADMOB)
The app shows ads served by Google AdMob (Google Mobile Ads SDK). To serve
and measure ads, Google may collect and process certain data from your
device, including:
- Your device's advertising ID
- IP address and coarse, IP-derived location
- Device and app information (model, OS version, app package name)
- Ad interaction data (views, clicks)
This collection is performed by Google under Google's own privacy policy, not
by us. We do not receive or store this data. For details, see:
- How Google uses information from sites or apps that use its services:
https://policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites
- Google Privacy Policy: https://policies.google.com/privacy
Your choices:
- You can opt out of personalised advertising on your device under
Settings > Google > Ads ("Opt out of Ads Personalisation"), and you can
reset or delete your advertising ID there at any time.
- Where required by law (for example, in the European Economic Area or the
United Kingdom), you will be asked for consent before personalised ads are
shown, and you may decline.
4. NETWORK REQUESTS THE APP MAKES
When you use the app, your device connects directly to the following
services. As with any internet connection, these services receive your IP
address as a technical necessity:
- Our database hosting (Supabase), to download the public RERA project data.
The app only reads data; nothing about you is written or uploaded.
- OpenStreetMap tile servers, to display the map. Map tiles are requested
from the OpenStreetMap Foundation, whose privacy policy is at
https://osmfoundation.org/wiki/Privacy_Policy
- The Karnataka RERA portal, to load project site photos and documents and
when you choose to open a project on the portal.
- Google advertising servers, as described in section 3.
We do not operate our own servers that log or profile users.
5. DATA SHARING
We do not share, sell, or rent any data to anyone, because we do not collect
any. The only third party that processes data through the app is Google, for
advertising, as described in section 3.
6. CHILDREN
The app shows public real-estate regulatory information and is not directed
at children under 13 (or the equivalent age in your jurisdiction). We do not
knowingly collect personal information from children.
7. SECURITY
All network connections made by the app use HTTPS encryption. The public
project data cached on your device is stored in the app's private storage,
which other apps cannot read on standard Android configurations.
8. DATA DELETION
Since we hold no personal data about you, there is nothing for us to delete
on request. To remove all locally stored data (cache, bookmarks, settings),
clear the app's storage in Android Settings or uninstall the app. To manage
data Google may have collected for advertising, use the controls described
in section 3 or visit https://myadcenter.google.com
9. CHANGES TO THIS POLICY
If the app's data practices change (for example, if a future version adds
analytics or new permissions), this policy will be updated and the
"Last updated" date revised before the change ships. Material changes will
be noted in the app's Play Store listing.
