This privacy policy applies to the BreatheMeter app (hereby referred to as "Application") for mobile devices that was created by Nikhil Fuge (hereby referred to as "Service Provider") as a Free service. This service is intended for use "AS IS".
What information does the Application obtain and how is it used?
The Application collects minimal information and operates with a privacy-first approach:
Local Data Storage:
- Breathing measurements (rate, timestamp, duration)
- App preferences and settings All data is stored locally on your device and is never sent to our servers unless you explicitly enable premium features.
Apple HealthKit Integration (Premium Feature):
- If you enable Apple Health sync, respiratory rate measurements are shared with Apple Health app
- This sharing is controlled entirely by you through iOS settings
- BreatheMeter does not store or access your Health data beyond syncing
- You can revoke access at any time in iOS Settings → Health → BreatheMeter
Firebase Analytics (Anonymous):
- We collect anonymous usage data to improve the app
- No personally identifiable information is collected
- Data includes: app crashes, feature usage, session duration
- This helps us understand how users interact with the app
- All data is anonymized
In-App Purchases & Subscriptions:
- Subscription information (Monthly or Yearly Premium plan)
- Purchase data is handled by Apple's App Store
- BreatheMeter does not store payment information
- Your subscription status is verified through Apple's servers
- We store your subscription status locally to enable/disable premium features
Data Exports:
- When you export data as CSV or PDF, files are created locally
- No data is sent to external servers during export
- Files can be shared via iOS share sheet (Mail, Files app, etc.)
Registration is not required to use the Application.
Does the Application collect precise real time location information of the device?
This Application does not collect precise information about the location of your mobile device.
Do third parties see and/or have access to information obtained by the Application?
Third-party access is minimal:
- Apple:
- Receives subscription/payment data through App Store
- Receives HealthKit data only if you enable Health sync
- Analytics through Firebase (anonymized data only)
- Firebase (Google):
- Receives anonymous crash reports and usage analytics
- No personally identifiable information is shared
- See Google Privacy Policy for details
- Apple HealthKit:
- Your breathing data is shared with Apple Health only if you authorize it
- Other apps with HealthKit access can see your respiratory data
- This is controlled by iOS, not by BreatheMeter
We do NOT sell or share your data with advertisers, data brokers, or other third parties.
