Terms and Conditions
These terms and conditions apply to the BodyCompass app (hereby referred to as "Application") for mobile devices that was created by Michael Matthews (hereby referred to as "Service Provider") as a Freemium service.
Upon downloading or utilizing the Application, you are automatically agreeing to the following terms. It is strongly advised that you thoroughly read and understand these terms prior to using the Application.
Intellectual Property
Unauthorized copying or modification of the Application, any part of the Application, or our trademarks is strictly prohibited. Any attempts to extract the source code of the Application, translate the Application into other languages, or create derivative versions are not permitted. All trademarks, copyrights, database rights, and other intellectual property rights related to the Application remain the property of the Service Provider.
Modifications and Charges
The Service Provider is dedicated to ensuring that the Application is as beneficial and efficient as possible. As such, they reserve the right to modify the Application or charge for their services at any time and for any reason. The Service Provider assures you that any charges for the Application or its services will be clearly communicated to you.
Personal Data and Security
The Application stores and processes personal data that you have provided to the Service Provider in order to provide the Service. It is your responsibility to maintain the security of your phone and access to the Application. The Service Provider strongly advises against jailbreaking or rooting your phone, which involves removing software restrictions imposed by the official operating system. Such actions could expose your phone to malware, compromise its security features, and may result in the Application not functioning correctly or at all.
Health and Wellness Disclaimer
The Application is a general wellness tool intended to support healthy lifestyle habits. It is not a medical device, and the content provided — including food recommendations, nervous system state tracking, and the Alignment Score — is for informational and motivational purposes only. The Application is not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease or medical condition. Always consult a qualified healthcare professional before making changes to your diet, exercise, or health routine, particularly if you have an existing medical condition.
Community Content
The Application includes community features that allow users to share activity and content with other users. By posting content in the Application, you grant the Service Provider a non-exclusive license to display that content within the Application. You are solely responsible for the content you post. You agree not to post content that is harmful, abusive, unlawful, or misleading. The Service Provider reserves the right to remove any content and to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms or community guidelines.
In-App Purchases and Subscriptions
The Application offers optional in-app purchases, including subscriptions (monthly and annual) and a lifetime access option, which unlock additional Pro features. All purchases are processed through the Apple App Store or Google Play Store. Subscriptions automatically renew unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current billing period. You can manage and cancel your subscriptions at any time through your App Store or Google Play account settings. Prices are clearly displayed before purchase. The Service Provider does not process payments directly and has no access to your payment card information.
Food Barcode Scanning
When you use the barcode scanning feature, the Application queries the Open Food Facts database to retrieve nutritional information for scanned products. The Service Provider does not guarantee the accuracy or completeness of nutritional data provided by this third-party database and accepts no liability for errors in that data.

Data-Driven Recommendations
The Application incorporates algorithmic data processing to provide personalized wellness recommendations, insights, and scores based on your logged data. By using the Application, you acknowledge and agree that these features process your data to deliver personalized functionality. The Service Provider ensures that all data processing complies with applicable laws and is designed to benefit your experience.
Internet Connection
Some functions of the Application require an active internet connection. The Service Provider cannot be held responsible if the Application does not function at full capacity due to lack of Wi-Fi access or if you have exhausted your data allowance. If you are using the Application outside a Wi-Fi area, your mobile network provider's agreement terms still apply and you may incur data charges. By using the Application, you accept responsibility for any such charges, including roaming charges if applicable.
Device Responsibility
The Service Provider cannot assume responsibility for all aspects of your usage of the Application. It is your responsibility to ensure that your device remains charged. If your device runs out of battery and you are unable to access the Service, the Service Provider cannot be held responsible.
Accuracy of Information
While the Service Provider strives to keep the Application updated and accurate at all times, some content may rely on third-party sources. The Service Provider accepts no liability for any loss, direct or indirect, that you experience as a result of relying entirely on this functionality of the Application.
Updates and Termination
The Service Provider may update the Application from time to time. The Application is currently available as per the requirements for each supported operating system, and those requirements may change. You agree to accept updates to the Application when offered. The Service Provider may also cease providing the Application and may terminate its use at any time. Unless informed otherwise, upon any termination: (a) the rights and licenses granted to you in these terms will end; (b) you must cease using the Application and, if necessary, delete it from your device.
Changes to These Terms and Conditions
The Service Provider may periodically update these Terms and Conditions. You are advised to review this page regularly for any changes. The Service Provider will notify you of any changes by posting the new Terms and Conditions on this page.
