Last Updated: September 29, 2026
EVD Technology ("we," "our," or "us") operates the BNI Attendance mobile application (the "App"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our App.
By using the App, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy.
1. Information We Collect
To provide our attendance tracking services, the App requests access to specific personal data and device features.
A. Personal Information
When you register or log in, we collect:
- Full Name
- Mobile Number (used for authentication and account recovery)
- Business Category
- Device Information (Device ID is recorded to enforce one-device-per-user security policies)
B. Device Permissions & Sensitive Data
The App requires the following permissions to function. We only access this data when you actively use the attendance features:
- Camera Access: We require camera access to allow you to take a live selfie when marking your attendance. This ensures the physical presence of the member.
- Location Data (Foreground & Background): We collect your exact GPS location (latitude and longitude) strictly at the moment you mark your attendance to verify you are at the designated chapter meeting location.
- Microphone / Audio (if applicable): We may request microphone access if video recording or audio notes are used during attendance or meeting submissions.
2. How We Use Your Information
The data we collect is strictly used for the core functionality of the App:
- Attendance Verification: Your selfie and GPS location are used together to authenticate that you are physically present at the BNI meeting.
- Account Security: We use your Device ID to ensure that only authorized users can access their accounts from their primary registered device.
- Communication: To communicate chapter updates, meeting statuses, and administrative alerts.
- Analytics & Reporting: To generate attendance reports for Chapter Admins and Super Admins.
3. Data Storage and Retention
- Storage: All personal data, including location logs and attendance photos, are securely transmitted over HTTPS and stored on our secure cloud servers.
- Retention: We retain your personal information and attendance records as long as your account is active. If your account is deactivated or deleted by an administrator, your data will be securely archived or deleted in accordance with our data retention policies.
4. Disclosure of Your Information
We do NOT sell, trade, or rent your personal data to third parties. We may share your information only in the following situations:
- With Chapter Admins: Your attendance records, location verification, and selfies are visible to your Chapter Administrators and Super Admins for verification purposes.
- Legal Requirements: We may disclose your data if required by law or in response to valid requests by public authorities (e.g., a court or a government agency).
5. Security of Your Data
We prioritize the security of your data. We implement industry-standard security measures, including encryption (JWT for session management, hashed passwords) and secure HTTPS connections, to protect your personal information from unauthorized access, alteration, or disclosure. However, no method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is 100% secure.
6. User Rights & Data Deletion
You have the right to request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data.
- Data Deletion: If you wish to delete your account and all associated data (including attendance selfies and location logs), please contact your Chapter Admin or reach out to us directly at [Insert Contact Email].
