INTRODUCTION

PDFChat Pro ("the App") is developed by Softweb Technologies. We are committed to protecting your privacy and being transparent about how we handle your data. This privacy policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding your data.

INFORMATION WE COLLECT

Data We DO NOT Collect:

We do not collect personal information (name, email, phone)

We do not store your PDF files on our servers

We do not create user accounts

We do not use analytics or tracking tools

We do not share any data with third parties for advertising

Data We Process:

PDF Text Content: When you upload a PDF, the text is extracted locally on your device. This text is sent to our AI backend only to answer your questions and is not stored permanently.

Questions: Your questions are sent to our AI service for processing and are not stored after a response is generated.

APP PERMISSIONS

Permissions Required:

INTERNET
Purpose: Required to send your questions to our AI backend server and receive answers. Without this permission, the app cannot provide AI-powered responses.

READ_EXTERNAL_STORAGE (Android 12 and below only)
Purpose: Required to access PDF files from your device storage. This permission is only requested on older Android versions. On Android 13 and above, the app uses the system document picker, which does not require this permission.

THIRD-PARTY SERVICES

We use the following third-party services to provide AI functionality:

HuggingFace Inference API: Used to process questions and generate answers. See HuggingFace’s Privacy Policy at https://huggingface.co/privacy

Railway: Used for backend hosting. No personal data is stored on their servers.

DATA SECURITY

All communications between the app and servers use HTTPS encryption

PDF content is processed in memory and not stored permanently

We do not maintain user sessions or track individual users

CHILDREN’S PRIVACY

This app is not intended for children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

CHANGES TO THIS POLICY

This privacy policy may be updated from time to time. Any changes will be posted with an updated “Last Updated” date. Users are encouraged to review this policy periodically.
